From launching Australia's first ATM to helping shape the future of digital payments, we continue to transform the way money moves.\n What you’ll be doing\nAs a Lead Engineer, you’ll work closely with Product Owners, Engineers and delivery squads to turn the core banking business needs into technical solutions.\nYou’ll be responsible for:\nLeading technical solution design and delivery ensuring alignment with domain architecture strategies\nProviding hands-on engineering support and helping developers resolve technical challenges\nReviewing code and ensuring solutions meet quality, security and engineering standards\nIdentifying technical risks, dependencies and roadblocks and driving these through to resolution\nEmbedding effective development, testing and operations practices across the squad\nSupporting root cause analysis, post-incident reviews and the prioritisation of technical defects\nLeading release planning, change sequencing and technical delivery decisions\nContributing to strategic technical roadmaps in partnership with product and architecture teams\nCreating and maintaining clear technical documentation, standards and processes\nMentoring engineers and helping uplift technical capability across the team\n About you\nYou’re an experienced software engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, leading technical conversations and helping others deliver their best work. You can balance hands-on engineering with broader platform, product and delivery considerations.\nYou’ll bring:\nExtensive experience as a software engineer including previous leadership experience \nDomain knowledge in Payments, Settlements and Disputes\nHands-on experience designing, building and delivering software solutions\nExperience implementing development automation, CI/CD, test automation, DevOps practices and modern deployment approaches\nStrong knowledge of scalability, performance, resilience and disaster recovery\nProgramming experience with Java or Node.js\nKnowledge across AWS cloud components\nExperience reviewing code and supporting developers and testers through design, build and delivery\nThe ability to identify delivery risks, sequence technical work and resolve roadblocks\nThe ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders\n Why Cuscal?\nAt Cuscal, you’ll experience interesting work that’s transforming.
