The role ensures that projects are developed, tendered, and delivered within approved budgets while maintaining quality and programme objectives. Working closely with Project Managers, Project Owners, Architects, Suppliers, and Subcontractors, the Cost Manager provides cost planning, procurement leadership, market intelligence, and budget control throughout the project lifecycle.\nKey Responsibilities:\nCost planning & budget management\nPrepare project cost estimates and budgets based on design information.\nSupport design decisions by providing cost advice and budget guidance.\nIdentify cost-saving opportunities and potential budget risks.\nMonitor and update project budgets throughout the project lifecycle.\nDesign & cost coordination\nWork closely with Project Managers and Design team during project development.\nReview design changes and assess their impact on project costs.\nSupport value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.\nTendering & procurement\nLead the tendering process and manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs).\nSource, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier proposals.\nReview bids with the project team and support subcontractor selection.\nIncorporate approved bids into project budgets and cost plans.\nSupplier & market management\nDevelop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.\nRegularly update pricing information and monitor market trends.\nSupport supplier performance reviews and procurement strategies.\nMaterials & purchasing coordination\nPrepare material schedules with the design and project teams.\nCoordinate material procurement and support purchasing activities.\nEnsure procurement remains aligned with budget and project requirements.\nCost control & reporting\nTrack project costs against approved budgets.\nEvaluate the cost impact of variations and change requests.\nPrepare cost reports, forecasts, and recommendations for project teams.\nSupport project close-out and final cost reconciliation.\nKnowledge & Experience:\nEducation - Bachelor's or master’s degree in Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Real Estate, or a related discipline.\nExperience - Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Estimating, or Construction Commercial Management. Experience in construction, fit-out, workplace, commercial real estate, or design-and-build projects. Demonstrated experience managing tendering and procurement processes.\nStrong commercial awareness - Understands project costs, market pricing and procurement strategies, ensuring sound financial decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.\nAnalytical and detail-oriented - Able to assess budgets, bids and cost data accurately while identifying risks, opportunities and discrepancies.\nNegotiation skills - Confident in managing tender discussions, evaluating commercial proposals and securing competitive market pricing.\nStrong communication - Collaborates effectively with Project Managers, Architects, Suppliers and Subcontractors, translating complex cost information into clear recommendations.\nHigh resilience - Performs effectively in fast-paced project environments and adapts quickly to changing priorities and project requirements.\nTeam-oriented mindset - Builds trusted relationships across internal teams and external partners to achieve successful project outcomes.\nMobility readiness - Willing to travel to client sites and holds a valid Category B driver’s license.\n Language proficiency - Fluent in Dutch, French and English, both spoken and written.\nCushman & Wakefield is an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer.
