Working under the guidance of senior colleagues, the role assists in providing accurate cost planning, procurement support, financial reporting and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.Projects are predominantly office interior fit-out and commercial real estate projects for technology clients. However, the position offers exposure to a broad range of asset classes, including office, industrial, logistics, retail and mixed-use developments, supporting clients from early feasibility through procurement, construction and project close-out.\nThe position works closely with clients, project managers, consultants and contractors, providing strategic commercial advice and contributing to the successful delivery of projects.\nAs part of this role, we would offer guidance and support to becoming a RICS recognized Chartered Surveyor (MRICS).\nJob Description\nThe Junior Cost Manager provides commercial and cost management support throughout all project stages, contributing to the successful financial delivery of construction projects.\nResponsibilities include:\nAssisting with cost estimates during feasibility, design development, pre-tender and Bills of Quantities (BoQ) stages.\n\nSupporting the preparation of cost plans, benchmark analyses and budget reviews.\n\nAssisting with procurement activities, including preparation of tender documentation, tender analysis and tender recommendations.\n\nSupporting the review and assessment of contractor tenders and quotations.\n\nPreparing monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts and financial updates.\n\nAssisting with change control procedures and maintaining change registers.\n\nSupporting invoice tracking, payment verification and contract valuations.\n\nAssisting with vendor procurement tracking and contract documentation.\n\nSupporting value engineering exercises and identifying cost optimization opportunities.\n\nAssisting with financial close-out, final accounts, retention release and project reporting.\n\nParticipating in project meetings and maintaining accurate commercial records.\n\nCollaborating with Project Managers, clients, consultants, contractors and internal teams to ensure effective project delivery.\n\nSupporting additional commercial services including contract administration, procurement activities and other cost management services as required.\n\nWe are Looking for:\nDegree in Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a comparable discipline.\n\nInitial professional experience through internships, placements or up to 2 years of experience in cost management or quantity surveying preferred.\n\nUnderstanding of construction cost planning and procurement processes.\n\nStrong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.\n\nGood communication and organizational skills.\n\nAbility to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; knowledge of cost management software is advantageous.\n\nKnowledge of AI Tools and desire to develop job efficiencies and improve services through utilization.\n\nWillingness to develop knowledge of German procurement, construction contracts and commercial practices.\n\nFluency in German and good English language skills.\n\nA proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.\n\nCushman & Wakefield is an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer.
