You'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality sterile processing services to support quality healthcare delivery for Veterans.\nThis is a full-time onsite position at Fresno VA Medical Center located at 2615 East Clinton Avenue, Fresno, CA 93703.\nWorking hours are five days per week, eight hours per day. Shifts are assigned based on facility need: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, or 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM.\nResponsibilities\nCleaning and decontaminating surgical instruments and medical equipment.\nSterilizing instruments using autoclaves, V-Pro, machine washers, and ultrasonics.\nInspecting instruments for damage, wear, staining, rust, and functionality.\nReassembling and packaging instruments per AAMI, AORN, FDA, OSHA, and manufacturer instructions.\nLabeling and documenting sterilized packages accurately.\nMaintaining records of cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance activities.\nAdhering to infection control protocols and wearing appropriate PPE.\nOperating within VA standards and national healthcare guidelines.\nParticipating in training and mentoring new staff on sterile processing procedures.\nSigning in/out daily and maintaining accurate timekeeping.\nProviding coverage during absences and ensuring continuity of care.\nResponding to schedule changes and emergencies within 2 hours.\nComplying with VA privacy, security, and data handling policies.\nQualifications\nMust be eligible to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance; US Citizenship is required\nMeets ONE OR MORE of the following requirements:Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or higher by International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM/HSPA). \nGraduation from a nationally recognized CRCST training program with a minimum of 2 current years of documented work in the field.\nGraduation from a nationally recognized Operating Room Technician training program with a minimum of 2 current years of documented work experience in a Sterile Processing Service environment.\nGraduation from a US military training program for Surgical Technicians with a minimum of 2 current years of documented work experience in a Sterile Processing Service environment.\nVA Level 2 certification with a minimum of 2 years current work experience in the SPS environment.\nNon-Certified technicians with documented and verifiable SPS hands on work experience for a minimum of 5 years.\n\n High school diploma or equivalent (GED)\nAbility to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently\nMinimum of two (2) years of recent professional experience in sterile processing\nAbility to operate sterilization equipment and follow manufacturer instructions\nKnowledge of sterile and unsterile medical supplies and equipment\nFamiliarity with automated inventory management systems preferred\nExperience with barcoding inventory control systems preferred\nKnowledge of aseptic techniques and proper cleaning procedures\nPhysical ability to stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during work shift\nPhysical ability to operate equipment; capable of standing for long periods of extended time, lifting and/or transferring up to 50 lbs \nLocation\nFresno VA Medical Center located at 2615 East Clinton Avenue, Fresno, CA 93703\nThis is a full-time onsite position\nShift\nWorking hours are five days per week, eight hours per day\nShifts are assigned based on facility need: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, or 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM\nPay\nHourly Pay: $30.00/hr\nHealth & Wellness (H&W): $5.09/hr (H&W will be prorated based on enrollment in the benefits offered, including automatic enrollment in employer-paid plans)\nAbout CVP\nCVP is an award-winning healthcare and next-gen technology and consulting services firm solving critical problems for healthcare, national security, and public sector clients.
