This role will serve as a technical leader and hands-on individual contributor, driving results, engineering excellence, and cross-team execution across critical initiatives. This position is ideal for a senior engineer who can operate independently, influence across teams, and deliver complex solutions aligned to business outcomes.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead the architecture, design, and development of scalable provider-facing digital products and enterprise healthcare platforms, ensuring solutions are secure, resilient, and aligned with business objectives\nDrive end-to-end software delivery across the full technology stack, leveraging modern technologies including Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, Python, React, TypeScript, APIs, and cloud-native services\nDesign and implement highly scalable microservices and distributed systems architectures, including modernization of legacy applications into cloud-based, service-oriented platforms\nPartner closely with Product Management, Business, Architecture, Security, and Operations teams to translate complex business requirements into innovative and scalable technical solutions\nProvide technical leadership for strategic initiatives, influencing architectural decisions, technology selection, engineering standards, and delivery execution across multiple teams\nDesign and develop secure, high-availability, high-performance application architectures, ensuring reliability, observability, maintainability, and compliance requirements are met\nDrive engineering excellence through code reviews, design reviews, mentoring, and adoption of best practices, fostering a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement\nImplement and optimize cloud-native infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and DevSecOps practices, enabling automated deployment, monitoring, and operational efficiency\nLeverage modern data, caching, and event-driven technologies, including Redis, Kafka, SNS/SQS, relational and NoSQL databases, to improve system performance, scalability, and real-time processing capabilities\nChampion emerging technologies and AI-driven engineering practices, including GenAI-powered development tools and automation frameworks, to accelerate software delivery and enhance product innovation\nRequired Qualifications:\n7+ years of software engineering experience delivering enterprise-scale, full-stack applications\n5+ years of experience with one of the following: Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, Python, Microservices design & development\n5+ years of experience with one of the following: React, TypeScript-based frameworks\n3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps & DevSecOps practices, including tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, and infrastructure-as-code for automated deployments\n3+ years of experience with a public cloud platform (AWS, GCP and/or Azure)\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with API integration and design using REST, GraphQL, and microservices-based architecture\nExperience designing and implementing scalable distributed systems and microservices architectures, including modernization of legacy applications into cloud-native services\nExperience with design and implement solutions using caching technologies / frameworks such as Redis / elastiCache etc., for achieving highest performance and user experience\nExperience with leading complex technical initiatives and cross-functional collaboration, including translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions\nExperience in using GenAI technologies / tools and frameworks to drive innovation and automation in SDLC\nSelf-starter with a strong learning mindset; proactive in adopting emerging technologies and driving innovative, scalable and high-performing solutions\nExperience mentoring engineers, conducting design & code reviews, and driving engineering best practices, Dev tools and standards across teams\nStrong proficiency in database design and data management, including relational and NoSQL technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB\nHands-on experience in design and implement event-driven architecture messaging systems utilizing asynchronous processing frameworks / tools like Kafka and cloud-native message services such as (SNS, SQS etc.,) for handling transactions real-time and distributed processing\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)\nPay Range\nThe typical pay range for this role is:\n$118,450.00 - $236,900.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
