In this role, you will apply strong technical, functional, and interpersonal skills to deliver high-quality solutions across the full product development life cycle. Our current environment includes multiple applications, including Tier 1 systems that support Retail Pharmacy.\nThe Staff Software Development Engineer - Java will partner closely with development, architecture, and operations teams to drive best practices in microservices design and development, identify and mitigate risks before production deployment, and mentor a team of Java developers.\nKey Responsibilities:\nIndependently designs and/or codes may lead others in the development of cost-effective application and program solutions\nLeads or acts as chief technical contributor to translation business requirements to technical specifications\nLeads or acts as a technical contributor in the design of new applications or enhancements including integration of purchased solutions\nIndependently performs and assists other team members in providing ongoing system maintenance, research, problem resolution and on-call support tasks for existing systems\nOversees or performs unit testing. May perform or assist with functional integration and system testing, according to detailed test plans to ensure high-quality systems. May assist business partners with User Acceptance Testing\nWith limited direction, supports the implementation of systems into production, including integration of purchased solutions\nResponsible for Code Asset Management for an application or set of applications. Supports and promotes the reuse of assets across the organization\nLead or act as a subject matter expert for projects and/or service requests impacting an application or set of applications\nRequired qualifications:\n7+ years of software development experience in enterprise/web applications\n5+ years of experience as full stack developer in Java-based technologies including microservices and spring boot framework /REST\n5+ years of experience Cloud Technologies like Azure, GCP or other public cloud services and Knowledge of open-source packages especially those provided by Apache, Google, and Spring\n2 + years of experience in React JS, Nodejs or other front-end frameworks; ability to develop effective engineering practices and processes with responsive UI design and development\n5+ years of experience in Database - SQL, NoSQL, table structure, data relationships\n3+ years of experience in Agile development practices\nPreferred qualifications:\nExperience in Retail Pharmacy or Healthcare domain will be preferred\nKnowledge with GraphQL/gRPC\nExpert knowledge of software engineering best practices with experience building complex software engineering products\nExtensive experience with building and driving adoption of software engineering best practices\nStrong understanding of distributed systems, cloud computing, and microservices architectures\nWorked as Full Stack Developer with experience on building mission critical /highly scalable application with large user/infrastructure footprint\nStrong background in software development, project management methodologies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate a team\nThe candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment\nKnowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices with expertise in working in in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goal\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)\nPay Range\nThe typical pay range for this role is:\n$130,295.00 - $260,590.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
