You'll join our Beacon Core Engineering team, which builds a large part of Beacon Cloud, sitting just above the platform abstraction layer.\nThe team builds the developer tools (SDLC) we offer to clients and use internally, including:\nDeveloper experience: IDE tooling with AI agent integration, code review, test frameworks, and release processes\n Runtime execution: batch and supercomputer (HPC) schedulers, containerization\nShared libraries: including the dependency-graph and deal-model libraries used by the financial layer, by clients, and internally\nYou'll gain hands-on experience building and operating cloud-native systems on AWS and Azure, and work with AI agents that speed up development - both for our own team and for the clients we help adopt them safely.\nResponsibilities\nLearn the team's tools, coding standards, and development workflow (Git, ticketing, CI/CD) with mentor support.\nCollaborate across the software development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, and release.\nUse AI agents to accelerate your own development work, and help advise clients and internal teams on using them safely.\nImplement well-scoped features and bug fixes, following established patterns and best practices.\nBuild and maintain automated tests (unit and/or integration) and verify changes meet acceptance criteria.\nParticipate in design and code review discussions; communicate tradeoffs around performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.\nDocument technical changes and operational notes to support maintainability and troubleshooting.\nRequired Skills\nCoursework or project experience with an object-oriented language (e.g., Python, C++, Rust).\nStrong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.\nAbility to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively on a team.\nOpenness to feedback and willingness to learn quickly.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Git and pull request workflows; familiarity with CI/CD.\nExposure to backend frameworks and APIs (e.g., REST/JSON).\nKnowledge of AI coding assistant tools.\nFamiliarity with testing tools and basic debugging practices.\nExperience with TypeScript or JavaScript is a plus.\nEducation and Experience:\nCurrent junior-level students pursuing a four-year degree in Computer Science or related field;
