Reduce support tickets, recover lost revenue from returns, and turn one-time buyers into loyal fans - with tools purpose-built for every touchpoint that follows the sale.\nAbout the Role\nCWILL AI Chat is growing from a live chat and AI chatbot into an AI customer service and sales conversion tool for Shopify merchants, with more AI capabilities, deeper Shopify data integration, an agent workspace, merchant settings, reporting and system reliability on the way.\nAs an R&D Trainee, you'll learn by building real features with a mentor, and grow into an engineer who owns a module independently.\nProduct Intro:\nhttps://www.cwill.com/products/ai-chat/\nBase location required:\nCary, NC\n(We are unable to hire in other states; relocation will be required.)\nHybrid remote working setting\nWhat You'll Do\nBuild AI Chat Features\nWith guidance from your mentor, develop features across live chat, AI customer service, Shopify data, the merchant admin and reporting\nBreak down requirements into technical tasks, then code, integrate, test and release\nWork on API integration between frontend and backend, data processing, business logic and UI improvements\nOwn the quality of what you ship\nMaintain Systems and Troubleshoot\nHelp resolve production bugs, customer-reported issues and internal test findings\nLearn to find root causes using logs, monitoring, databases and debugging tools\nImprove stability, performance and maintainability; document recurring issues so they do not happen again\nBuild AI and Shopify Capabilities\nDevelop AI customer service features such as the knowledge base, product Q&A, order lookup, human handoff and conversation summaries\nIntegrate and improve Shopify product, order, customer and shipping data\nHelp validate how AI features perform in real merchant scenarios\nCollaborate and Deliver\nWork with product, design, QA, operations and customer success to understand the why behind each feature\nFollow team coding standards, take part in code review, and add documentation and tests\nShare progress, risks and blockers proactively, and join retrospectives after each launch\nYour Growth Path\nBy 3 months: understand the architecture and main modules; complete small features and bug fixes with your mentor\nBy 6 months: independently own small features or sub-modules from coding to release, and diagnose common production issues\nBy 12 months: own a product module or technical area at the level of a junior engineer\nRequirements\nRequirements\nProficiency in Go (Golang) is required. Experience with other languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python or Java is a plus\nBachelor's or master's degree from a US university, graduating recently or within the last 1-2 years.
