The Estimator will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and completing bid documents and accurate cost estimates for electrical construction projects. This role plays a key part in developing competitive bids and ensuring projects are properly evaluated from a cost and scope perspective.\nWHAT YOU’LL DO:\nReview proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate\nPrepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work and enter into computer estimating system; review computer printout for accuracy and completeness\nRequest quotes from suppliers for equipment and materials\nIdentify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes. Review quotes for completeness with plans and specifications\nItemize and quantify all incidentals necessary in preparing the bid packages including sub-contract work, equipment rental, tools, and supplies\nAfter the successful bid at project turnover, meet with Project Management to fully explain the estimate, scope of work, quotes and offer aspects for the successful transition of the project\nResponsible for the timely completion of all client-required documents\nDraft scope letter inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications for estimates\nMaintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures\nThe duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position.\nWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:\nAdvanced knowledge of electrical estimating\nPerform calculations required for estimating\nRead and interpret blueprints and/or engineering design drawings\nProficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)\nPrioritize and manage multiple tasks and change priorities as necessary\nWork under pressure and adapt to changing requirements\nOral and written communication skills as required\nSelf-motivated, proactive and an effective team player\nInteract effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others\nWHAT YOU BRING TO US:\nBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field\nMinimum 5 years’ experience estimating commercial electrical construction projects\nExperience in EBM estimating software preferred\nJob Type: Full-time\nPay: $120,000.00 -
