The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to understand how different teams operate, identify opportunities for improvement, and design practical AI solutions that deliver measurable business value.\nRather than simply building AI tools, you will be expected to understand existing business processes, challenge current ways of working and help define future-state processes that leverage AI, automation and intelligent agents.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nYou will work across different areas of the organisation to understand how work gets done today and identify opportunities where AI, agents, and automation could improve it.\nYour work will involve:\nRunning discovery sessions with business and technical teams\n\nMapping existing processes, systems, pain points and manual activities\n\nIdentifying and prioritising opportunities for AI and automation\n\nChallenging existing processes and designing improved future-state workflows\n\nTranslating business problems into technical requirements and solution designs\n\nBuilding prototypes and proofs of concept to validate ideas quickly\n\nDeveloping AI applications, agents and automation workflows\n\nIntegrating AI solutions with existing systems, APIs and data sources\n\nIntegrating disparate systems to automate workflows and remove manual effort\n\nDesigning appropriate human-in-the-loop controls, guardrails and monitoring\n\nTesting solutions and measuring their effectiveness against defined business outcomes\n\nTaking successful prototypes through to production\n\nSupporting teams with adoption and new ways of working\n\nHelping establish reusable AI architecture, engineering patterns and best practices\n\nContributing to the organisation's longer-term internal AI and automation roadmap\n\nThe Types of Solutions You Might Build\nDepending on the opportunities identified, solutions could include:\nAI systems, agents, or automation that perform multi-step business processes\n\nAutomation of current manual processes\n\nConnecting up distinct systems to improve data flows\n\nCustomer or employee support assistants\n\nWorkflow automation combining AI with existing business systems\n\nAI and automation capabilities embedded into existing applications\n\nWhat We're Looking For:\nYou don't need experience with every technology or use case, but you should have strong experience building real-world software and applying modern AI and automation solutions to practical problems in order to solve business challenges.\nEssential\nStrong software engineering experience (use of languages is flexible)\n\nHands-on experience building applications using a variety of AI platforms\n\nExperience building AI agents, tool-calling workflows or deterministic automation\n\nExperience integrating applications with APIs, databases and external systems\n\nAbility to understand and analyse business processes\n\nStrong solution design and architecture skills\n\nExperience translating ambiguous business problems into practical technical solutions\n\nAbility to prototype rapidly and iterate based on user feedback\n\nStrong stakeholder communication and consulting skills\n\nComfortable working independently in a greenfield environment\n\nUseful Experience:\nExperience with some of the following would be valuable:\nAgent and workflow orchestration frameworks\n\nRAG, embeddings, vector search and enterprise knowledge retrieval\n\nEvaluation and monitoring of LLM applications\n\nPrompt and context engineering\n\nCloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP\n\nWorkflow and automation platforms\n\nEnterprise system integrations\n\nAI security, permissions, governance and guardrails\n\nCI/CD and production deployment of AI applications\n\nWhat Success Looks Like:\nSuccess in this role isn't measured by the number of AI prototypes created.
