Currently, we are looking for an experienced IBM Z Db2 System Programmer to install, customize, maintain, and optimize the Db2 for z/OS environment.\nIn this role, you will collaborate with the mainframe team to ensure the stability, performance, security, and reliability of Db2 systems. You will contribute to system upgrades, software maintenance, disaster recovery, and functional testing of backup environments, working with a range of IBM and third-party technologies.\nThis is an opportunity to join a technology environment undergoing significant investment and continued expansion, with projects planned through 2027 and beyond.\nProject information:\nLocation: Remote\nType of employment: B2B contract\nRemuneration: 210 PLN net + VAT per hour on B2B\nProject languages: English\nKey Responsibilities:\nInstall, customize, configure, and maintain Db2 for z/OS and related products.\nPerform Db2 upgrades, software maintenance, and system-level configuration.\nSupport functional testing of tertiary backup and disaster recovery environments.\nMonitor and optimize Db2 system performance, including performance tuning and capacity planning.\nAdminister Db2 security, access controls, and authorization rules using RACF and ACF2.\nInstall and maintain Db2 tools and supporting software from IBM, Broadcom, and other vendors.\nTroubleshoot complex technical issues, identify processing anomalies, and resolve system errors.\nSupport database planning, design, sizing, and ongoing system administration.\nWork with IBM utilities, JCL, access methods, and mainframe file structures.\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational guidelines.\nProvide operational support and coordinate incident resolution and escalations.\nCollaborate with service centers and business support teams on problem management, reporting, and technical coordination.\nContribute to complex technical projects, designing and implementing solutions to meet business and operational requirements.\nRequirements:\nProven experience as an IBM Z Db2 System Programmer or in a similar mainframe technical role.\nStrong hands-on experience installing, customizing, and maintaining Db2 for z/OS.\nSolid understanding of Db2 relational database concepts and architecture.\nGood knowledge of SMP/E for software installation and maintenance in an MVS environment.\nExperience with Db2 administration, performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting.\nKnowledge of Db2 security administration, including RACF and/or ACF2 access controls.\nExperience with software maintenance, system upgrades, and release management.\nGood understanding of IBM utilities, JCL, access methods, and mainframe file structures.\nKnowledge of disaster recovery processes and backup environment testing.\nExperience using Db2 monitoring tools and products from IBM, Broadcom, or other vendors.\nAbility to diagnose complex technical problems and identify system processing anomalies.\nExperience preparing technical documentation and standard operating procedures.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.\nWe offer:\nPrivate medical care with dental care (covering 70% of costs).
