Currently, we are looking for an experienced SharePoint Online Migration Technical Lead to provide overall technical leadership for a large-scale File Share to SharePoint Online and Azure Bulk migration program.\nThe migration is based on an existing high-level concept that requires further validation, optimization, and execution. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping the migration strategy, validating the target architecture, preparing the migration roadmap, setting up migration tooling, and leading pilot migrations before the program moves into full-scale production waves.\nThe role will be particularly focused on ensuring a scalable target architecture, low-risk migration approach, and successful transition into production migration waves.\nBased on the current assessment, the migration scope includes:\nApproximately 261 TB of data\nApproximately 155 million files\nApproximately 20 million folders\n66 file shares containing more than 1 TB of data each\nApproximately 171 TB of data across these large file shares\nProject information:\nLocation: 100% remote\nType of employment: B2B contract\nRemuneration: 160 - 170 PLN net + VAT per hour on B2B\nProject languages: English\nKey Responsibilities:\nReview, challenge, and optimize the existing SharePoint Online target architecture, information structure, governance model, and migration strategy.\nValidate overall migration readiness and define the migration roadmap and wave-based migration approach.\nAnalyze complex migration scenarios and technical blockers, including:Long file paths\nUnsupported characters\nVery large file volumes\nPermission inheritance and access control challenges\nExcel files containing macros\nUnsupported or problematic content\nOther file share migration limitations\n\nDefine data remediation, exception handling, and migration standards for problematic content.\nGuide and mentor the SharePoint SME in the setup, configuration, and optimization of migration tooling, including Quest, ShareGate, and supporting utilities.\nDesign pilot migration scenarios, including:Success criteria\nTest procedures\nValidation approach\nRollback plans\nCutover activities\n\nLead up to two pilot migrations, analyze the results, and optimize the migration architecture, tooling configuration, and processes based on lessons learned.\nProvide technical governance and leadership during the initial production migration waves.\nEnsure migration activities meet required quality, security, governance, and compliance standards.\nIdentify and manage technical risks, dependencies, and migration-related issues.\nFacilitate technical workshops and communicate migration decisions and risks to key stakeholders.\nSupport strategic decisions related to:Target platforms\nArchiving strategies\nContent consolidation\nData remediation\nMigration prioritization\nEstablish and maintain migration standards, best practices, and technical documentation throughout the program.\n\nRequirements:\nDeep expertise in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online architecture.\nExtensive hands-on experience with large-scale File Share to SharePoint Online migrations.\nStrong knowledge of:SharePoint information architecture\nGovernance\nPermissions and security\nMetadata\nRetention\nCompliance\nContent lifecycle management\n\nPractical experience with ShareGate, Quest, and migration factory methodologies.\nProven experience designing and executing:Migration waves\nPilot migrations\nCutover plans\nRollback strategies\nData remediation approaches\n\nExperience working with high-volume and high-capacity migrations, ideally involving hundreds of terabytes and millions of files.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex migration scenarios and develop practical remediation strategies.\nExcellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.\nAbility to provide technical leadership, challenge existing concepts, and translate business and technical requirements into scalable migration solutions.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical SMEs, project teams, and senior stakeholders.\nWe offer:\nPrivate medical care with dental care (covering 70% of costs).
