Pharmaceutical Sales Trainer

Location: The ideal candidate will be located in the Eastern or Central Time Zone of the United States and a reasonable distance to major airport.

Position Summary: This is a full-time remote position but with frequent travel required roughly around 25%

Salary range: This position has a base salary of $150,000 - $170,000 depending on experience plus annual profit-related bonus.

We're looking for a passionate Sales Trainer to help develop and inspire our U.S. commercial teams. If you've been successful in pharmaceutical sales and enjoy coaching, developing others and turning complex information into engaging learning experiences, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

You'll play a key role in onboarding new Sales Account Managers and help set them up for success by delivering impactful and engaging training programmes and build their confidence, knowledge and skills needed to make a difference for patients living with rare and complex diseases.

What you will be doing: 

Training Program Development

  • Facilitate therapeutic disease-state, product, compliance, sales and operational training.
  • Deliver engaging workshops, learning sessions and certification activities.
  • Help new hires connect clinical knowledge with meaningful customer interactions.
  • Assess learner progress and support readiness for field deployment.
  • Reinforce learning beyond initial onboarding.
  • Develop training resources, assessments, job aids, and workshop materials.
  • Simplify complex clinical and scientific information into clear, actionable learning materials.
  • Leverage digital tools such as, AI technologies, learning platforms, Microsoft applications, and Canva.
  • Continuously looking to improve training content, processes and learner experiences.
  • Identifying innovative ways to increase engagement and efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs and Regulatory teams to ensure training materials are accurate, compliant and aligned with current business priorities.
  • Working frequently with colleagues in the UK to develop content, support shared priorities, and deliver effective programs across teams.
  • Contribute to major business and training initiatives including, National sales meetings, Product launches, conferences and virtual learning events.

 

 Skills and experience that will help you to succeed in this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field.
  • Successful pharmaceutical field sales experience.
  • Demonstrated experience personally designing, developing, and facilitating training programs from the ground up for customer-facing pharmaceutical or biotechnology teams.
  • Strong pharmaceutical sales experience, with at least 2 years in a either a training, coaching or leadership role.
  • Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Exceptional clinical insight and the ability to quickly understand complex scientific topics across therapeutic areas and translate them into clear, relevant, and engaging training.
  • Expertise in instructional design and adult learning methodologies.
  • In-depth understanding of pharmaceutical sales processes, compliance standards and the complexities of the rare disease and specialty pharma markets.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for field rides, training sessions and company meetings.

Desirable:

  • Product launch or pre-launch training experience would be beneficial.
  • Field leadership or coaching experience (e.g., as a first-line leader) is a plus.
  • Experience operating effectively in a remote, cross-functional environment.
