activities for assigned projects and provides technical guidance and support to less experienced team members.\nResponsibilities\nCommissioning Planning & Coordination\nIndependently manage commissioning activities for assigned projects, buildings, or major project scopes.\nParticipate in design, construction, owner, vendor, and commissioning meetings to evaluate project readiness, risks, schedules, and commissioning requirements.\nDevelop, maintain, and execute commissioning plans, schedules, issue logs, testing plans, and turnover strategies.\nCoordinate commissioning activities among contractors, vendors, project managers, operations teams, and third-party commissioning providers.\nIdentify commissioning risks, schedule impacts, and readiness concerns and proactively escalate issues requiring resolution.\nSupport continuous improvement of commissioning processes, tools, standards, and documentation practices.\nTesting & Operational Readiness\nLead readiness planning and execution activities for Level 3, Level 4, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).\nServe as the primary CyrusOne commissioning representative during critical testing events.\nVerify testing activities are executed in accordance with approved procedures, project requirements, and operational expectations.\nManage issue resolution, retesting activities, and corrective actions through completion.\nEvaluate testing results and provide recommendations regarding operational readiness and project turnover.\nOwner Representative Responsibilities\nRepresent CyrusOne throughout commissioning execution and project turnover activities.\nManage third-party commissioning providers, contractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with project requirements, schedules, testing expectations, and documentation standards.\nHold project stakeholders accountable for issue resolution, testing execution, deliverable quality, and turnover readiness.\nIdentify and communicate project risks, testing concerns, documentation deficiencies, and operational readiness issues.\nEnsure alignment among design intent, construction completion, commissioning execution, and operational requirements.\nProject Reporting & Issue Management\nManage commissioning issue logs, deficiency tracking, action items, retesting requirements, and project closeout activities.\nProvide regular project updates regarding commissioning progress, testing readiness, issue resolution, schedule risks, and turnover status.\nDevelop commissioning reports, executive summaries, and project status updates.\nSupport project teams in resolving issues affecting startup, testing, turnover, or operational readiness.\nMaintain accurate commissioning records and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.\nProject Closeout & Operational Handoff\nOwn commissioning closeout activities for assigned projects.\nCoordinate with contractors, vendors, commissioning providers, project managers, and operations teams to collect and review turnover documentation.\nManage completion of testing reports, substantial completion documentation, punch lists, occupancy documentation, operating manuals, warranties, as-built drawings, spare parts inventories, and final closeout requirements.\nEnsure closeout packages are completed accurately and within established project timelines.\nFacilitate successful transition from commissioning to operational ownership.\nVerify turnover documentation is properly organized, stored, and made available to operations teams.\nTeam Support & Leadership\nProvide guidance and support to Commissioning Project Manager I team members.\nShare commissioning best practices, lessons learned, and technical knowledge across the commissioning team.\nAssist with onboarding and development of newer commissioning personnel.\nSupport departmental initiatives and process improvement efforts.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\n5-8 years of experience in commissioning, construction management, mission-critical facilities, facility operations, startup, testing, project management, or related technical fields.\nExperience independently managing commissioning activities, turnover, startup, testing, or operational readiness efforts for complex facilities.\nWorking knowledge of mechanical, electrical, controls, and critical infrastructure systems.\nAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, commissioning plans, operating sequences, test procedures, and technical documentation.\nExperience coordinating activities among contractors, vendors, consultants, and cross-functional project teams.\nDemonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information to diverse audiences.\nStrong organizational and documentation management skills.\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.\nExperience using Bluebeam or similar document management software.\nAbility to travel 50 to 75%\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting commissioning activities within data centers, mission-critical facilities, healthcare, industrial, manufacturing, utility, or similarly complex environments.\nExperience leading Level 3, Level 4, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) activities.\nExperience serving as an owner representative, commissioning agent, construction manager, or facility operations lead.\nFamiliarity with commissioning management software, reporting systems, and project management platforms.\nExperience supporting substantial completion, turnover, warranty management, and operations handoff processes.\nCAPM, PMP, CCP, CBCP, CxA, or similar industry certifications.\nEducation / Certifications\nRequired\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.\nPreferred\nCAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management)\nPMP (Project Management Professional)\nCertified Commissioning Authority
