This position will ensure that systems like HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), cooling, water management, and energy efficiency are optimized for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.Responsibilities:\nDesign & Development: Lead the design of mechanical systems to support data center operations, focusing on HVAC, cooling, and overall thermal management.\nInfrastructure Optimization: Oversee the optimization of mechanical infrastructure, ensuring reliability and efficiency in line with energy sustainability goals.\nCapacity Planning: Work with cross-functional teams to plan and implement systems for scalable growth, ensuring that mechanical systems meet the increasing demands of data processing.\nOperational Support: Provide technical leadership in day-to-day operations, identifying and resolving issues in mechanical systems and offering proactive solutions.\nEnergy Efficiency & Sustainability: Develop and promote initiatives to reduce the energy consumption and carbon footprint of data center facilities.\nProject Management: Manage large-scale projects, from initial design through to installation and commissioning, ensuring timely delivery, cost control, and quality standards.\nVendor Management: Work with suppliers and contractors to source equipment and materials, ensuring compliance with specifications, industry standards, and budget constraints.\nCollaboration & Leadership: Lead a team of engineers and collaborate with other departments, including electrical and civil engineering teams, as well as IT and facilities management.\nCompliance & Standards: Ensure that all mechanical systems comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and best practices in the industry.\nQualifications:\nExperience: 10+ years in mechanical engineering, specifically in data centers, facilities management, or critical infrastructure environments.\nProject Management Skills: Experience in managing multi-disciplinary projects, including budget management and stakeholder communication.\nProblem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose and solve complex mechanical issues quickly and efficiently.\nLeadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.\nSustainability Focus: Knowledge of energy-efficient and sustainable technologies applied to large-scale data centers.\nThis role requires a combination of engineering expertise, leadership, and a deep understanding of data center operations to ensure the reliability, sustainability, and efficiency of the systems that power critical IT infrastructure.\nExcellent communication skills from verbal and written formats and able to explain highly technical information in ways that anyone can understand.\nAble to travel 25%\nEducation / Certifications:\nB.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.\n\nEvidence of Technical Knowledge: Expertise in HVAC, cooling systems, chilled water systems, and mechanical infrastructure within high-performance computing environments.\nB.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.\nEvidence of Technical Knowledge: Expertise in HVAC, cooling systems, chilled water systems, and mechanical infrastructure within high-performance computing environments.\nCyrusOne is an equal opportunity employer.
