If you believe technology's highest calling is public good, come build with us.\nTHE ROLE\nAs a Software Engineering Intern at Cyvl, you won't be stuck on side projects. You'll work directly on the systems that power our platform: user interfaces, backend services and APIs, and machine learning models. Your work ships to production, so you'll see your impact live in front of customers. You'll learn how to build scalable, production-grade software in a fast-moving startup, alongside engineers who invest in your growth.\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\nBuild real product features that ship to customers, across frontend and backend.\n\nWrite well-tested code for APIs and services using Python and Supabase, and get hands-on with cloud tools and DevOps workflows.\n\nCollaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers on features that help governments build infrastructure faster.\n\nDevelop real fluency with AI coding agents on a large production codebase: how to direct them, review their output, and know when to work by hand.\n\nGrow fast through regular pairing, thorough code reviews, and direct feedback on your work.\n\nWHAT YOU BRING\nCurrently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field\n\nStrong programming skills in Python\n\nBasic understanding of databases and SQL (Postgres experience a plus)\n\nComfort working with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) as part of a normal development workflow\n\nExcitement to learn new technologies and apply them quickly\n\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment\n\nAble to work in person at our Somerville, MA office\n\nNICE TO HAVE\nSide projects, class projects, or hackathons that showcase full-stack development\n\nFamiliarity with React, Supabase, Docker/Kubernetes, or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc.)\n\nHands-on computer vision experience: image classification, object detection, or segmentation (PyTorch, YOLO, Roboflow, or similar)\n\nExperience with messy real-world data (cleaning, labeling, or evaluating model output), not just training on a clean benchmark\n\nInterest in geospatial data, 3D mapping technologies, or infrastructure\n\nWHY CYVL\nHard tech.
