Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role provides operational and technical leadership to a significant maintenance workforce, including 1 Supervisor and up to 40 tradespeople.\nThis is a hands-on, high-impact role suited to an engineering professional who thrives in fast-paced, high-volume, highly regulated food manufacturing environments.\nResponsibilities\nOversee daily engineering and maintenance operations across the beef and lamb kill floor and fabrication machinery\nImplement and optimise preventive, predictive, and reliability-centred maintenance systems\nLead, coach, and develop a maintenance team including a supervisor and up to 40 tradespeople\nEnsure maintenance resourcing aligns with production demands in a high-volume, fast-paced environment\nManage contractors and specialist service providers for efficient service delivery\nAnalyse maintenance and production data to improve equipment performance, uptime, and reliability\nParticipate in site projects, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements\nDrive WHS, environmental compliance, and safety excellence across all engineering activities\nWhat You Will Bring to the Table\nDegree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline\nExtensive plant/maintenance engineering experience within food manufacturing (meat processing highly regarded)\nStrong leadership capability with experience managing supervisors and large trade teams\nHands-on knowledge of kill floor, fabrication, or another high-volume food-processing equipment\nProven problem-solving skills (RCA, 5-Whys, PDCA, KPI-driven decision making)\nSolid understanding of WHS and environmental regulatory requirements\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, high-compliance production environment\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills\nExperience with refrigeration and boiler systems (desirable)\nPostgraduate training in maintenance or reliability engineering (desirable)\nReady to Make an Impact?\nIf you’re an experienced Plant Engineer seeking a leadership role within a complex, fast-paced production environment -
