software architects, developers, and cross-functional teams to deliver features from concept through deployment.\nParticipate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.\nDevelop new features and maintain services supporting D-Wave's Leap quantum-classical hybrid cloud platform.\nIndependently own development tasks and contribute to moderately complex features and technical solutions.\nIdentify inefficiencies in existing systems and implement improvements;\nTroubleshoot and resolve bugs through code-level and system-level analysis.\nWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented software.\nParticipate in peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback based on engineering best practices.\nMentor junior and intermediate developers and support their technical development.\nImprove application performance, scalability, reliability, and availability.\nIdentify technical blockers early and work with other teams to resolve them.\nParticipate in D-Wave's annual Hackathon to explore and prototype new ideas;\nParticipate in the on-call rotation after gaining sufficient knowledge of the system, typically after 6 to 12 months.\nContribute to engineering practices and the technical direction of the Leap platform.\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.\nAt least 5 years of professional software development experience.\nStrong proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, and application development.\nExperience designing, implementing, and consuming REST APIs.\nExperience with Git workflows, including branching, merging, and pull requests.\nExperience developing software in a Linux environment;\nStrong understanding of software architecture, algorithms, asynchronous programming, and performance optimization.\nStrong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn through exploration and feedback.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively across teams.\nSelf-motivated, proactive, and adaptable approach.\nInterest in improving engineering processes and systems and supporting their implementation.\nPreferred:\nExperience with Golang or Rust.\nExperience with high-performance computing environments and workload managers such as Slurm, PBS, or PBS Pro.\nExperience integrating heterogeneous hardware.\nExperience using AI-assisted development tools for code generation, code review, testing, or documentation.\nExperience building AI-powered solutions to improve engineering productivity or automate workflows.\nExperience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Spinnaker, or similar tools;\nExperience developing and deploying software in cloud environments such as AWS.\nExperience with Kubernetes and Argo CD, including deploying, managing, and troubleshooting cloud-native applications.\nExperience supporting production systems, including troubleshooting, incident response, and operational support.\nQuantum computing experience is not required, although an interest in learning quantum computing is valuable.\nBenefits and Compensation:\nAnticipated annual salary range: $150,000 to $206,000 USD for the remote United States
