You'll manage awarded projects, partnering closely with foremen, superintendents, and general contractor / owner teams. You'll also perform material and labor takeoffs, solicit vendor quotes, and build competitive estimates.\nWhat You'll Do\nProject Management (~75%)\nSupport project managers with submittals, RFIs, change events, procurement, and look-ahead schedules.\nTrack costs, labor hours, and productivity (budget vs. actual); maintain buyout and PO logs.\nCoordinate material deliveries, prefab requests, rentals, and tool needs with the field.\nAssist with meeting minutes, action items, and closeout (O&Ms, as-builts, training).\nPromote safety and code compliance; support site walks and punch lists with field foremen.\nEstimating & Preconstruction (~25%)\nPerform electrical takeoffs (power, lighting, systems, gear, feeders, branch, devices) using labor units consistent with NECA standards.\nBuild estimates in Accubid / Trimble (or similar), apply NECA labor unit productivity factors, and assemble alternates / VE options.\nSolicit, compare, and scope vendor / sub quotes (gear, lighting, generators, ATS/UPS, fire alarm, low voltage, subcontractors).\nPrepare clarifications / RFIs during the bid phase and maintain bid logs and proposal forms.\nDevelop preliminary one-lines, feeder schedules, and count sheets to support proposals.\nTools You'll Use\nEstimating: Accubid / Trimble, McCormick, or equivalent.\nPlans / Markup: Bluebeam Revu, PlanGrid, and Procore.\nScheduling / Tracking: MS Project (or Primavera), Excel (pivot tables), PowerPoint.\nStandards / Code: NEC (NFPA 70), NFPA 70E, local amendments; basic understanding of utility standards.\nRequirements\nWhat You Bring\nRequired\n1-3 years in electrical construction (office or field), or an EET / CM degree with relevant internships.\nSolid blueprint reading; able to interpret one-lines, risers, specs, and submittals.\nWorking knowledge of NEC basics, typical commercial / multi-tenant residential assemblies, and common gear.\nStrong Microsoft skills; organized, proactive communicator; comfortable on active jobsites.\nValid driver's license; ability to visit sites across the metro area.\nPreferred\nExperience with Accubid / Trimble and Bluebeam quantity takeoff.\nExposure to Procore, MS Project, and cost coding.\nFamiliarity with NECA labor units, union work rules, and union jobsite workflows.\nOSHA-10/30; multi-tenant residential / data center experience; basic short-circuit / coordination concepts.\nSuccess Metrics (first 12 months)\nProject Management\nCost / labor tracking maintained weekly with clear variance notes.\nSubmittal / RFI cycle times meeting contract requirements.\nAn open line of communication established with field supervisors, with demonstrated efficiencies in scheduling, coordination, and material deliveries.\nPositive field feedback on procurement timing and document clarity.\nProject Estimating\nAssists with / completes takeoffs, compiles estimates, and creates a total cost estimate.\nHelps ensure bid packages are submitted on time with clean scopes and alternates.\nEstimate accuracy within ±3-5% on materials; assists with labor estimates.\nWork Environment & Physical Requirements\nOffice + field hybrid; occasional early site meetings and vendor visits.\nAbility to walk jobsites, climb stairs/ladders, and carry drawings/specs/PPE.\nBenefits\nCompensation & Benefits\nCompetitive salary with performance bonus eligibility.\nEmployer-paid benefits package.
