Our work depends on a TS/SCI level Cloud Engineer joining our team to support our intelligence customer in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO.\nHOW A CLOUD ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT\nThe Cloud Engineer will be responsible for working with highly functional development team automating service deployments; optimizing system performance; integrating with enterprise authentication services; establishing/improving system monitoring; maintaining established security protocols; providing customers technical support. The Cloud Engineer will be integrated with an agile environment participating with scrums and other meetings.\nSpecific Duties and Responsibilities:\nWork with A&A Team to maintain security requirements for operation of systems\nMaintain and improve existing infrastructure (build out autoscaling, support new services, optimize cost efficiencies/authentication/search, etc)\nProduce detailed documentation\nMaintain System in AWS environment using EC2, S3, Load Balancer, and RDS\nAutomate and optimize service deployments\nDelivering a full-stack web application to production; identifying and resolving operational issues in same\nActively participating in technical requirements-gathering process (i.e. meetings with customers)\nExecuting design and implementation of application features, independently / unassisted, with minimal oversight\nRefactoring legacy application code for improved reliability and maintainability\nMentoring junior developers\nWriting and reading unit tests; understanding code-quality analysis concepts\nWriting and debugging Javascript, Typescript, or closely-related language\nDeveloping applications backed by a relational database; understanding RDB design concepts\nWHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience\n8+ years IT experience\nMeet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA\nStrong knowledge of Amazon Web Services\nStrong Troubleshooting skills\nExperience in automating tasks using scripted languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Perl\nFamiliarity with Agile/Scrum methodology\nFamiliarity with DevOps development processes and Continuous Integration tools: GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus\nExtensive Typescript or Javascript background\nAngular frontend framework; UI/UX design\nMicroservice-based backend architecture; integrating with COTS/FOSS software REST APIs\nSupporting a full-stack application in a PaaS environment\nCI/CD pipeline implementation, ideally with GitLab\nCreating and deploying containerized applications, ideally with Docker\nDesigning/implementing container orchestration with Kubernetes\nDesired Skills\nStrong understanding of cloud APIs and interaction with the AWS/CLI\nExperience working with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Ruby, or Java)\nExperience with Go programming language\nFamiliarity with HTML, CSS, Markdown, and portal development\nDatabase experience with a Postgres backend\nStrong communication skills\nDesired Certifications:\nAWS Certified Cloud Practitioner\nAdditional Information\nAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.\nCompensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $140-$150k.
