You will operate within multiple security enclaves in a hybrid Windows & Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environment, ensuring consistent system performance and reliability.\nYour Primary Responsibilities Will Include:\nSystem Administration & Advisory: Administer both Windows and Linux workstations, including EVDI and physical systems, to ensure stability, performance, and security.\n\nLinux Desktop Support: Provide direct support for Linux desktop users, resolving issues related to system performance, configuration, software compatibility, and user environment optimization.\n\nTroubleshooting & Incident Resolution: Diagnose and resolve issues affecting both Windows and Linux systems, including application crashes, connectivity issues, and performance degradation.\n\nUser Experience Improvement: Analyze and resolve user issues across platforms, and work with cross-functional teams to implement improvements.\n\nCustomer Support: Deliver Tier II support for Linux and Windows applications, offering remote desktop assistance and escalating as needed.\n\nProactive Solutions: Identify and implement both immediate and long-term fixes to technical problems, ensuring minimal impact on operations.\n\nCollaboration & Communication: Work effectively within small and large teams, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nIncident Management: Lead triage, response, and communication for system incidents, contributing to major projects and continuous improvement efforts.\n\nWhat We're Looking For:\nWe’re looking for an experienced IT professional with hands-on expertise in both Windows and Linux environments, particularly with a strong emphasis on Linux desktop support and troubleshooting.\nMinimum Requirements:\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent technical training, work, or military experience.\n\n8+ years of experience in systems administration supporting both Windows and Linux operating systems.\n\nActive TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance is required.\n\nA valid DoD Information Assurance (IA) certification (such as CompTIA Security+ CE, SSCP, or CCNA-Security) is necessary; CompTIA Security+ CE is preferred.\n\nMust obtain DoD 8570 Computing Environment (CE) training within 6 months of hire.\n\nTechnical Expertise Should Include:\nLinux Desktop Administration (Red Hat, CentOS, or Ubuntu) - installation, configuration, and user support.\n\nWindows 10, Server 2012, Server 2016.\n\nActive Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, LDAP.\n\nApplication troubleshooting (Outlook, Excel, Word, Java, browsers).\n\nFamiliarity with ServiceNow, NETS, or similar ticketing systems.\n\nSolid understanding of ITIL v3 or higher.\n\nBonus Skills (Not Required but a Plus):\nExperience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).\n\nPowerShell or Bash scripting.\n\nFamiliarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Citrix).\n\nExperience with profile management tools like VMware UEM.\n\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and AV/telephony support.\n\nNetworking fundamentals.\n\nFamiliarity with agency-specific requirements and secure environments.\n\nReady to join a mission-focused team and grow your technical career in both Windows and Linux systems administration?
