The role is responsible for sourcing cost-effective and efficient transport solutions that maximise profit, while maintaining high standards of quality, service, and customer satisfaction.\nResponsibilities\nRespond promptly and efficiently to customer requests for charter services, delivering cost-effective and operationally efficient transport solutions.\nEnsure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintaining high quality standards and excellent customer service at all times.\nDevelop and maintain a comprehensive charter supplier database, ensuring access to a wide range of reliable and cost-effective service providers.\nBuild and manage strong supplier relationships to control costs, maximise service performance, and support long-term sustainability.\nEnsure all reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time, with charter documentation processed efficiently and maintained to a high standard.\nIdentify opportunities to maximise profitability while maintaining service quality and meeting customer expectations.\nCarry out accurate administrative tasks, including updating shipment statuses, obtaining and filing Proofs of Delivery (PODs), processing invoices, and preparing customer quotations.\nMonitor customer compliance with export documentation requirements to support smooth and error-free customs clearance.\nProvide guidance and assistance on customs documentation requirements, helping to resolve customs-related issues and minimise delays to export shipments.\nComplete Brexit-related administrative activities, including entering information into Government Gateway systems and updating customs data on processed shipments.\nCommunicate effectively with internal departments including Export Customer Service, Warehouse, Transport, Customs, and Sales teams, as well as colleagues across UK and European branch networks.\nSupport the efficient movement of freight by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer requirements are met and service levels maintained.\nThe Ideal Candidate Will Have\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nStrong planning, organisation, and time management abilities.\nA proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills.\nHigh attention to detail and accuracy.\nGood IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.\nA customer-focused mindset with a commitment to excellent service.\nThe ability to adapt and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.\nA confident, professional, and approachable manner.\nAtleast 5 years' experience in a European Charter role, ideally within a large logistics organisation.\nGood knowledge of European geography and transport networks.\nStrong commercial awareness and an understanding of profitability within the charter market.\nThe ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.\nStrong analytical skills and sound decision-making ability.\nA good understanding of the European charter sector and its operational requirements.\nBenefits That Support You\nAt DACHSER, we believe in taking care of our people - inside and outside of work.
