With a strong focus on road-freight clearances, the role is responsible for delivering a high-quality service to customers across a range of export processes. A key part of the position is supporting new team members, refining workflows, and driving continuous improvement to optimise team performance.\nResponsibilities\nSupervising the export customs team in a fast-paced environment\nManaging daily export operations when the Export Customs Manager is absent\nProviding effective customs solutions to meet service and operational deadlines\nReviewing and improving processes without compromising quality\nAllocating tasks and overseeing daily declaration management\nProducing and monitoring KPIs to ensure targets are achieved\nSupporting the team with day-to-day issues and queries\nEnsuring smooth handovers between shifts\nMaintaining compliance with Customs, AEO, and SOP requirements\nWorking closely with internal teams, external customers, and customs authorities (HMRC, Border Force, DEFRA)\nLiaising with Head Office in Kempten on customs matters when required\nPromoting DACHSER values and supporting staff coaching, integration, and performance\nManaging absence records and contributing to appraisals\nUpholding Health & Safety, BRC, and ISO9001 standards\nSupporting a proactive safety culture and ensuring all team members follow H&S practices\nThe ideal candidate will have\nMinimum 2 years’ supervisory experience\nMinimum 2 years’ experience in a customs-related role\nGood knowledge of third-country customs regulations\nStrong understanding of customs procedures and formalities\nWorking knowledge of CDS and related software\nAwareness of global geography\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nStrong listening skills and ability to understand different perspectives\nConfident problem-solving and analytical ability\nProfessional approach to resolving issues\nGood numerical and IT literacy\nHigh accuracy and attention to detail\nStrong customer service orientation\nHighly adaptable in a changing environment\n\nBenefits That Support You\nAt DACHSER, we believe in taking care of our people - inside and outside of work.
