Working both independently and as part of the team, the role will help ensure customer-specific requirements are met while consistently delivering a high-quality service.\nKey Responsibilities\nSafely and efficiently move freight throughout the Transit Terminal, ensuring goods are handled correctly at all times.\nCarry out the loading and unloading of vehicles, working efficiently to meet operational deadlines.\nOperate the appropriate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safely and correctly for each task.\nIdentify and report damaged freight, following the correct reporting and escalation processes.\nMaintain high standards of Health & Safety, following all Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and site procedures.\nUse scanners, computers and other IT equipment as part of daily warehouse activities.\nComplete all required documentation accurately and efficiently, ensuring records are kept up to date.\nWork to agreed loading and unloading schedules, ensuring time-sensitive activities are completed within operational deadlines.\nWork collaboratively with the wider Transit Terminal team to help maintain a safe, efficient and high-quality operation.\nThe ideal candidate will have\nPrevious experience handling, storing or retrieving heavy and high-value goods within a warehouse environment.\nA strong team-working approach, with the ability to support colleagues and contribute to a positive working environment.\nExcellent attention to detail, ensuring freight and documentation are handled accurately.\nThe ability to work efficiently at pace while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.\nConfidence to work independently and use your own initiative when required.\nGood computer literacy, with the confidence to use scanners and warehouse IT systems.\nGood manual handling skills and an understanding of safe working practices.\nA strong awareness of Health & Safety within a warehouse or operational environment.\nGood numeracy and literacy skills to accurately complete documentation and follow operational instructions.\nBenefits That Support You\nAt DACHSER, we believe in taking care of our people - inside and outside of work.
