As a Platform Engineer, you will work closely with our public sector clients and project teams to design, develop, and implement platform and infrastructure solutions that meet our clients’ requirements.\nKey Responsibilities\nCollaborate with clients to understand their platform engineering needs, business objectives, and operational constraints, acting as a trusted technical advisor\nDesign, develop, and implement secure, reliable, and scalable platform solutions across cloud and on-premise environments, taking ownership from concept through delivery\nUtilise your expertise to lead the architecture of robust, scalable, and secure systems, embedding network and cyber security best practices\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to gather project requirements, analyse feasibility, and provide clear, pragmatic technical recommendations\nStay up to date with emerging trends, tools, and technologies in platform and DevOps engineering, proactively sharing knowledge and raising the technical bar across the team\nCollaborate with project managers to ensure successful project delivery within the defined timelines and budget\nAccurately delivering high quality work to agreed timelines, including the ability to take the initiative and knowing how to jump straight in\nSupport client engagements including pitches and presentations, clearly articulating platform approaches and technical value\nContribute to the growth of Daintta by actively shaping company strategy, technical direction, and ways of working\nRepresenting us and our core values: Transparent, Fair and Daring\nSkills/Knowledge\nThe role requires the following key skills / knowledge, non-exhaustively:\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field or equivalent industry experience\n5+ years professional experience as a Platform / DevOps / Cloud / Site Reliability engineer, preferably in a consultancy or industry setting\nExperience working with one or more of the major cloud platforms - AWS, Azure or GCP\nExperience designing, building, and operating internal developer platforms (IDPs), with a focus on reliability and adoption\nA product-focused mindset that understands and prioritises the impact of platform changes on end users and developer experience\nExperience developing, operating, and evolving cloud and on-premise solutions in production environments\nProduction experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Bicep etc)\nExperience designing and implementing solutions with network security, identity, and access considerations built in\nStrong understanding of networking concepts such as private VPCs, security groups, NAT gateways, VPNs, and hybrid connectivity\nExperience working in Unix/Linux environments\nFamiliarity with software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum. In particular iterative approaches to software development in conjunction with the client\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to find innovative solutions to complex technical challenges\nExcellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members\nAbility to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly in fast-paced environments\nA passion for delivering high quality solutions that meet client expectations\nSound understanding of Software Engineering practices and principles, such as CI/CD pipelines for verifying, building, testing and pushing deployment artefacts \nExperience in OCI containerisation (e.g. Docker) and associated orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes\nExperience implementing observability solutions, including centralised logging, monitoring, alerting, and operational dashboards\nStrong knowledge of infrastructure and cloud security principles and best practices\nBenefits\nWe believe in supporting our people both professionally and personally.
