The Technical Quality Assurance Engineer is a hands-on consultant responsible for delivering technically capable, risk-based quality assurance across complex, high-assurance client and internal project systems.\nThe role supports delivery teams through exploratory, functional, API, integration and system-level testing, using technical investigation, data validation and appropriate automation to identify risk and provide confidence throughout the delivery lifecycle.\nWhat’s in it for you?\nYou will be joining Daintta as part of a growing Quality Assurance and Delivery Assurance capability, working on complex technical projects where quality, reliability and operational confidence matter. You will work collaboratively with developers, architects, delivery teams and clients, using APIs, data, logs, integrations and delivery tooling to investigate behaviour and provide clear evidence of quality and risk.\nYou will be expected to adapt quickly to unfamiliar technologies and delivery environments, work methodically and professionally, and contribute to Daintta’s wider QA capability through knowledge sharing, improved tooling, reusable approaches and continuous improvement.\nKey Responsibilities\nAnalyse and decompose requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and solution designs to identify quality risks and appropriate test coverage.\nDesign and execute functional, exploratory, API, integration, system and end-to-end testing across complex technical solutions.\nTest REST APIs, service integrations and data flows, validating behaviour, contracts, transformations and error handling.\nInvestigate defects using logs, API requests and responses, databases, browser developer tools, CI/CD output and other technical evidence.\nCreate and maintain clear test evidence and traceability between requirements, risks, testing and outcomes.\nWork closely with developers, architects and delivery teams to embed quality early and prevent defects rather than relying solely on downstream testing.\nContribute to automated regression testing and work alongside the Test Automation Engineer to increase effective automation coverage.\nSupport integration of testing and quality checks within CI/CD pipelines and modern engineering workflows.\nApply risk-based testing to prioritise assurance effort around business, technical and operational impact.\nSupport test planning, defect management, quality reporting, release readiness and operational assurance activities.\nCommunicate quality risks, findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nWork directly with clients as a trusted delivery team member, adapting testing approaches to their technology, constraints and operational context.\nContribute to continuous improvement of Daintta QA methods, reusable assets, tooling and delivery practices.\n\nSkills/Knowledge\nYou are degree educated, or have significant equivalent relevant experience.\nYou have practical experience in software quality assurance and testing across the delivery lifecycle.\nYou have hands-on experience of API, integration, system, exploratory or technically focused testing.\nYou are comfortable using technical evidence such as APIs, logs, data and SQL/database queries to investigate system behaviour and defects.\nYou have experience of, or an appetite to develop capability in, test automation and CI/CD environments.\nYou understand risk-based testing and can determine what needs testing, why it matters and how deeply it should be tested.\nYou are flexible and able to work effectively in unfamiliar technical environments, including where requirements may be incomplete or ambiguous.\nYou can communicate clearly with engineers, delivery teams and clients, including explaining quality risks and evidence to non-technical stakeholders.\nYou are passionate about technology, problem solving and understanding how complex systems work.\nExperience working within Defence, National Security, Critical National Infrastructure, Policing, Healthcare/NHS, Government or similarly regulated or high-assurance environments would be advantageous.\nExperience working within Agile software development environments, including Scrum and/or Kanban.\nStrong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and how quality activities align with each phase.\nExperience participating in Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, Backlog Refinement, and Release Planning.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.\nExperience working in iterative and incremental delivery environments with a focus on continuous improvement.\nCurrent UK Security Clearance (SC or DV) is desirable but not essential. Candidates without active clearance must be willing and eligible to undergo the appropriate security vetting prior to employment\nExposure to Waterfall or hybrid delivery methodologies.\nExperience supporting projects through both traditional and Agile delivery models.\nExperience contributing to release management, deployment validation, and production support activities.\nComplementary Experience:\nWe are hiring multiple Technical Quality Assurance Engineers and do not expect candidates to have identical experience.
