This position requires working 10+ weekends a year to support events.\nSome last-minute scheduling happens to meet our customers’ needs when an unexpected repair or event happens. \nOnsite Support consists of supporting Daktronics equipment and end customers where the equipment is located. This work will primarily focus on:\nProviding service, installation, or support during an event at a customer site. \nProviding on-site technical and maintenance services for Control Systems and Display Systems. \nLeveraging your knowledge by training our Service Partners. \nRegularly participating in technical training on new and different products and systems to advance your technical knowledge to support Daktronics Customers. \nActively creating and updating knowledge base articles for internal/external use. \nPerform other duties as assigned or needed to support the efforts of Daktronics. \nRemote Support consists of supporting Daktronics equipment and end customers. This work will primarily focus on:\nProviding technical over-the-phone support to internal and external customers. \nResponding to customers’ request for technical support primarily through incoming and proactive outbound calls. \nProviding software application installation/configuration support along with “how-to” assistance. \nTroubleshooting and solving basic to sophisticated hardware and software technical issues. \nWhere is this opportunity located?\nYour office will be at your home, located within 30 miles of the Austin, TX metro area.\nYou will travel to customer sites in your Daktronics vehicle within your regional area. You may also travel nationwide or internationally depending on business need. \nOnsite work can vary by location and from day to day. One day you might work inside a control room, the next day you might be outside on a lift or ladder working with a video display. \nYou are paid for all your working time, including travel time to and from site. \nWhen you aren’t working on a customer site, you will work from your home office to remotely support our customers. \nWhat are the pay and perks?\nThe typical hiring range for this position is $30.00 to $35.00 per hour based on the location Austin, TX metro area. We work as a team towards mutual prosperity. \nQualifications\nTo be considered for Audio Video Field Service Engineer, we require the following:\nMinimum of an associate degree plus relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Preferred majors include Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, A/V Broadcast, or similar programs. Will consider non-technical bachelor’s degree if applicant also has previous experience demonstrating technical learning ability.\nMust be able to:Communicate effectively in a variety of settings. \nPositively and professionally able to work in stressful situations. \nShow personal commitment to continuously improve. \nDisplay a can-do attitude in good and bad times. \n\nEffectively exercise discretion and independent judgment. \nStrong computer skills: Internet navigation, word processing, spreadsheets, and Daktronics internal programs. \nWork effectively as a team member assisting when and where needed. \nComfortable working from a home office location. \nMust be able to get a passport. \nAble to work at heights or from a ladder and able to carry ladder/tools/parts from vehicle to work site. \nAbility to lift, carry, and move up to 45 pounds. \nAbility to work in a variety of environments, including cold/hot weather, small spaces. \nMust be able to work nights and weekends based on pre-determined business need. \nThe selected individual must be able to travel by air and ground and comply with the Daktronics Driver Eligibility Policy to begin and maintain employment.
