You’ll do this by:\nPerforming scheduled preventative maintenance on automated equipment. \nMaking emergency repairs to electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. \nTraining peers to perform maintenance tasks. \nCommunicating effectively over the phone to repair equipment. \nPerforming other duties as assigned and as needed to meet customer expectations. \nBecause you’ll bring a unique perspective to maintenance, you’ll impact operational excellence by:\nEvaluating and improving preventative maintenance programs. \nOperating automated equipment. \nInputting details into work orders on work performed and materials consumed. \nContributing to discussions regarding new equipment purchases, processes, and materials. \nMaintaining records of maintenance procedures and parts.\nWhat are the pay and perks?\nThe typical hiring range for this position is $31.00 to $36.00 per hour based on the location of South Dakota. This includes both base pay and an applicable shift increment. This information is intended to be a general overview and may be modified by Daktronics at any time.\nQualifications\nTo be considered for the Machine Maintenance Technician position, we require the following:\nTwo-year Associate degree in Electrical, Robotics, Mechatronics, Diesel Mechanics, Energy Technology, or a similar technical field is required.\nDemonstrated ability in problem solving and troubleshooting. \nAbility to follow work plans and prioritize work orders, escalating issues when needed. \nRegularly and reliably work the scheduled hours, including scheduled overtime. \nConsistently complete quality work in a timely manner. \nGood communication skills, including technical writing.\nWillingness to learn and capable of learning quickly. \nWillingness to receive feedback and make changes. \nAbility to successfully participate as a member of a team and interact with a variety of personnel in a positive, professional manner. \nAbility to work with minimum supervision, effectively exercising discretion and independent judgment. \nWear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Items may include safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, electrostatic discharge wear, and others as determined necessary by Daktronics Risk and Safety Department. You will be provided the PPE for the required areas. Pulmonary function tests for use of respirator may be required.\nPhysical requirements include the ability to:Work in an environment with these types of smells: paint, solvent, and solder. \nMove materials weighing up to 75 lbs. \nRemain in a stationary position for the full shift with planned breaks.\nWork from heights, including working from ladders and platforms. \nHave full range of motion (including but not limited to bending and lifting). \nReach in all directions (up, down, side-to-side, and diagonal reaching), including awkward positions.\nMaintain steady hand/eye coordination. \nIdentify wire and paint colors. \nRead fine print. \n\nThe selected individual must be able to travel by air and ground and comply with the Daktronics Driver Eligibility Policy to begin and maintain employment.
