This position provides critical administrative, project management, and donor support for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra's development activities, including both the annual fund and a comprehensive campaign. The role ensures effective communication among staff and volunteer leadership, supports donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts, and helps advance the Development Department's fundraising goals. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and a passion for advancing the mission of the DSO through philanthropy.\nKey Responsibilities\nExecutive Support to the Chief Development Officer\nManage the CDO's calendar, scheduling priorities, and meeting logistics. \nCoordinate meetings, prepare agendas, presentations, and supporting materials. \nPrepare pre- and post-meeting donor materials, briefing documents, and follow-up communications. \nTrack action items, deadlines, and departmental priorities on behalf of the CDO. \nSupport the execution of fundraising priorities, departmental initiatives, and strategic projects. \nProcess invoices and compile monthly expense reports for the CDO. \nAssist with committee, board, and leadership meeting preparation and administration. \nFacilitate communication among staff and volunteer leadership. \nSupport cross-departmental collaboration with Development, Marketing, and Artistic teams. \nConduct prospect research and prepare donor briefing materials. \nManage the campaign calendar and coordinate internal and external communications. \nTrack campaign progress, gift commitments, and pledges in collaboration with the database. \nAssist with donor cultivation and stewardship efforts. \nPerform general administrative duties and other responsibilities as assigned. \nCampaign Coordination\nProvide administrative and project management support for the DSO's comprehensive campaign. \nManage campaign timelines, deliverables, and project tracking. \nAssist with the development of campaign proposals, presentations, and donor materials. \nSupport campaign communications and stewardship efforts. \nAssist with campaign cultivation and recognition events as needed. \nDepartmental Administration\nProvide administrative and project management support for the Development Department's fundraising activities. \nSupport stewardship efforts including gift tracking, recognition events, campaign updates, and donor records management. \nMaintain accurate and up-to-date records within Tessitura and other departmental systems. \nSupport departmental budget tracking and administrative processes. \nCoordinate Development complimentary ticket requests with the Box Office. \nPrepare correspondence, acknowledgment letters, mailings, and other donor communications. \nCoordinate logistics for donor cultivation and recognition events, including guest lists, RSVPs, materials preparation, on-site support, and follow-up communications. \nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership, Business Administration, Philanthropy or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. \nMinimum of 2 years of administrative experience \nAbility to work in a team-oriented environment \nStrong ability to multitask and support multiple stakeholders in order to meet deadlines and business objectives \nMust maintain confidentiality \nExcellent verbal and written communication skills \nHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skills \nPreferences\nExperience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Publisher) \nExperience with Canva \nExperience with Tessitura \nValues in Action\nIntegrity: Maintains accurate, confidential, and timely donor, campaign, financial, and administrative information while following through on commitments and ensuring details are handled with care and accountability.\nCreativity: Brings thoughtful and resourceful approaches to donor communications, campaign materials, events, and departmental projects that help advance the DSO’s fundraising priorities.\nConnection: Builds strong relationships and facilitates effective communication among donors, volunteer leadership, Development staff, and cross-departmental partners to support meaningful engagement with the DSO.\nRespect: Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and consideration in every interaction, honoring the time, perspectives, privacy, and contributions of donors, colleagues, volunteers, and community partners.\nThe Dallas Symphony Orchestra offers a competitive benefits package, free onsite parking, and access to complimentary concert tickets when available.\n Equal Employment Opportunity\nThe Dallas Symphony Association is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.
