responsibilities:\nImplement and monitor project HSE plans, site safety procedures and compliance requirements across data centre construction projects.\nConduct regular site inspections, safety audits and compliance checks to identify and address potential risks.\nIdentify hazards and assess risks associated with construction, engineering and data centre activities.\nDevelop and review Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Job Safety Analyses (JSA/JHA) and Permit-to-Work documentation.\nEnsure compliance with HSE legislation, client requirements and industry best practices.\nImplement and monitor effective control measures to mitigate identified risks.\nInvestigate incidents, near misses, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions, and recommend corrective actions.\nMaintain accurate HSE records, inspection reports, incident reports and safety statistics.\nMonitor environmental compliance, including waste management, hazardous materials, spill prevention, noise and pollution control.\nData Center-Specific Safety:\nEnsure the safe execution of critical data centre construction, MEP, testing and commissioning activities.\nMonitor safety procedures relating to electrical works, energisation, commissioning and high-voltage systems.\nEnsure compliance with electrical safety standards and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.\nOversee safety controls for generators, UPS systems, switchgear, transformers, batteries, fuel systems and other critical infrastructure.\nMonitor lifting operations involving heavy mechanical and electrical equipment.\nEnsure safe working practices for work at height, confined spaces, hot works, excavations and temporary works.\nReview safety arrangements where construction and commissioning activities are carried out simultaneously.\nSupport critical infrastructure change management and shutdown activities from a safety perspective.\nSite Monitoring & Compliance:\nConduct daily site walks to identify and address unsafe conditions and behaviours.\nCoordinate with contractors and subcontractors to close HSE observations and corrective actions.\nParticipate in toolbox talks, safety meetings and HSE briefings.\nVerify that personnel have the required training, competency, authorisation and PPE for high-risk activities.\nMonitor subcontractor safety performance and compliance with project HSE requirements.\nStop unsafe work where there is an immediate risk to people, equipment or facilities.\nSupport emergency response activities, drills and preparedness programs.\nReporting & Documentation:\nPrepare daily, weekly and monthly HSE reports for project management and client review.\nMaintain HSE audit, inspection and compliance documentation.\nTrack safety observations, incidents, corrective actions and key HSE performance indicators.\nSupport the preparation of HSE dashboards and project performance reports.\nParticipate in client, consultant and regulatory HSE audits.\nEnsure all HSE records and documentation are organised, accurate and readily available for review.\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Engineering or a related discipline preferred.\nProfessional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA or equivalent are required or highly desirable.\nAdditional qualifications in construction safety, fire safety, first aid or environmental management are advantageous.\nMinimum 5-8 years of HSE experience within construction, MEP, infrastructure, industrial or mission-critical projects.\nPrevious experience on data centre projects is highly preferred.\nStrong knowledge of electrical and mechanical construction safety is essential.\nExperience supporting testing, commissioning, energisation and project handover activities is advantageous.\nExperience managing subcontractor HSE compliance on large-scale construction projects is preferred.\nStrong communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project
