As part of Damen's international network, SSC delivers standardized, reliable, and customer-focused services while continuously improving processes and driving operational excellence.\nAs we continue to expand our Finance & Accounting services, we are looking for an AP & Expense Accountant to help ensure efficient accounts payable operations and employee expense management.\nThe role combines both Accounts Payable (AP) and Mobile Travel & Expense (MTE/MXP) responsibilities within a shared-services environment.\nThe Role\nAs an AP & Expense Accountant, you are responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments while supporting end-to-end Mobile Travel & Expense (MTE/MXP) operations.\nYou serve as a key contact point for employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding payable transactions, expense claims, reimbursements, corporate credit cards, and system-related inquiries. The role requires strong accounting knowledge, process discipline, customer-service orientation, and the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously within a dynamic shared-services organization.\nKey Responsibilities\nAccounts Payable\nAs part of the Accounts Payable process, you will:\nProcess vendor invoices accurately and ensure payments are completed in accordance with agreed timelines. \nReconcile vendor statements, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate corrective actions with relevant stakeholders. \nMaintain complete and up-to-date accounts payable records, schedules, and supporting documentation.\nSupport month-end closing activities, including accrual preparation and AP reconciliations. \nRespond professionally to vendor and internal inquiries regarding invoice and payment status. \nMobile Travel & Expense (MTE/MXP)\nYou will also support the administration and operation of expense-management activities by:\nProviding support to employees regarding expense claims, reimbursements, report status, and approval workflows. \nProcessing user-account requests, access changes, and master-data updates. \nSupporting corporate credit card administration, including applications, renewals, credit limit changes, blocking, and termination activities. \nHandling corporate credit-card related inquiries and coordinating with service providers when necessary. \nSupporting the onboarding of new entities and companies into the MXP environment, including connections with credit card providers. \nMaintaining MXP master data and system configurations to ensure accurate and reliable information. \nReporting & Continuous Improvement\nYou will contribute to performance reporting and process optimization by:\nPreparing periodic reports on accounts payable performance, outstanding expenses, backlog status, and recurring issues. \nSupporting audit requests and tax-documentation requirements relating to vendor invoices, payments, and employee expenses. \nIdentifying opportunities to strengthen controls, improve efficiency, and enhance service quality. \nMaintaining process documentation and contributing to knowledge sharing within the Finance & Accounting team. \nSkills & Experience\nTo be successful in this role, you bring:\nEducation\nBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. \nAccounting Knowledge\nWorking knowledge of Accounts Payable processes, reconciliations, month-end closing activities, and financial documentation. \nSystems & Digital Tools\nGood proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel. \nExperience with SAP, MXP, Concur, or other ERP and expense-management systems is considered an advantage. \nLanguage\nWorking proficiency in both written and spoken English. \nPersonal Competencies\nStrong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. \nGood organizational and follow-up skills. \nSolution-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to resolving issues. \nStrong communication and stakeholder-management skills. \nAbility to support employees, vendors, Finance colleagues, and other stakeholders professionally and effectively. \nCustomer-oriented mindset with the ability to balance transaction processing, administration, employee support, and issue resolution. \nWhat We Offer\nAt Damen, we understand that talented people are the foundation of our success.
