The team focuses on process optimization, automation, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. Continuous improvement and digitalization are key priorities within the department.\nThe role\nAs an intern, you will work on a graduation assignment focused on the automation of the Chain Liability (WKA) process within Accounts Payable, including the improvement of supplier documentation management. You will have a focus on compliance aspects as well, as this is also part of the scope within Accounts Payable. The objective of this assignment is to design an automated end-to-end process that improves efficiency, reduces manual work, and ensures compliance with legal and audit requirements.\nAt the end of the assignment, you will deliver a clear process design and implementation plan that can be used by the organization to improve the current way of working.\nKey accountabilities\nAs an intern, you will:\nAnalyze the current WKA process within Accounts Payable;\nIdentify bottlenecks, risks, and inefficiencies in both processing and documentation flow;\nConduct interviews with the team, Procurement colleagues and possible suppliers;\nInvestigating automation opportunities within SAP and Process Director;\nDesign automated triggers for requesting missing documentation;\nDevelop a structured approach for compliance monitoring and audit-proof documentation;\nDeliver an end product that will improve the WKA process, and possibly implement the first steps.\nSkills & experience\nAt least several skills/experiences from the following list are required to be considered:\nCurrently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master program within Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nInterest in process optimization, automation, and finance operations\nBasic understanding of financial processes and financial law is a plus\nAffinity with systems such as SAP or workflow tools is a plus\nFluent in both English and Dutch\nFulltime availability, on site in Gorinchem\nWhat we offer\nMentoring at academic level will be available throughout the internship\nAn internship/ graduation fee and travel allowance will be paid for the duration of the assignment\nA dynamic and international working environment within Damen\nThe opportunity to contribute to a real-life process improvement project\nInsight into Finance, Procurement, and digital transformation processes\nPossibility to build a professional network within Damen\nOther\nThis assignment is available to start as soon as possible, depending on your availability.
