Manufacturing engineering department consists of following core areas:\nDesign for Manufacturing\nTechnology development\nManufacturing engineering department ensures availability of information for both supply chain operations and production execution.\nPURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB\nThis role is responsible for enriching and transforming 3D ship design models from Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE into Manufacturing Bill of Materials, creating routings and manufacturing logic, and ensuring seamless data transfer to MES and ERP. The ideal candidate will bridge design and production, optimizing manufacturability, accuracy, and efficiency throughout the production lifecycle.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACTIVITIES\nProduct Industrialization\nDefine the initial and ideal production strategy per ship type.\nSet up modular Bill of Materials structures and routings in 3DX.\nCapture manufacturing logic in reusable templates to enable fast and consistent product deployment.\nProcess Design & Standardization\nStandardize and continuously improve manufacturing processes for quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.\nSupport “anonymous production” initiatives by decoupling planning from engineering timelines.\nDigital Backbone & Data Modeling\nUse 3DX to manage the digital thread from design to production.\nStructure manufacturing data models in line with MBOM and process planning methodologies.\nCollaborate on the implementation of future capabilities such as digital twins and model-based execution.\nChange Management & Engineering Integration\nIncorporate engineering changes into the manufacturing models\nWork alongside designers to influence manufacturability during the early design phase.\nProvide manufacturing feedback to ensure practical, production-ready designs.\nContinuous Improvement & Lean Enablement\nCollaborate with design, planning, and production teams to validate manufacturability and resolve technical issues.\nIdentify inefficiencies and improve build strategies based on lessons learned and production KPIs.\nContribute to process improvement programs targeting rework, waiting time, and planning stability.\nSupport transformation toward a data-driven, highly synchronized industrial flow.\nIntegration between 3DX, ERP and MES\nEnsure the complete and correct transfer of manufacturing data to: MES for shopfloor execution and scheduling and ERP for materials management, procurement, and production planning\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field.\nGood written and verbal English\nKnowledge of Lean tools, Six Sigma, or Material Requirements Planning concepts\nExperience\nMinimum 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in shipbuilding or heavy industry.\nPrefer experience working with 3DX or similar PLM/MES systems.\nExposure to MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering) or digital twin strategies.\nWhat we offer\nHere at Damen, we realize supporting and managing many talented individuals is of great essence.
