You will advise Product Owners, BI Managers, developers, business analysts, and stakeholders on best practices, reporting structure, information design, governance, and scalable technical solutions.\nYour success will be measured through improvements in report consistency, usability, technical quality, governance, and user adoption.\nKey responsibilities:\nAs a Power BI Specialist, you will:\nServe as the subject matter expert for Microsoft Power BI across the organization.\nAssess and improve enterprise BI architecture, governance, deployment practices, security, and maintainability.\nAdvise teams on report structure, navigation, KPI design, information hierarchy, accessibility, and data storytelling.\nDefine and maintain Power BI development standards, reusable templates, visualization principles, and governance frameworks.\nLead technical design reviews and provide recommendations on:Power BI Architecture\nDAX\nPower Query\nSQL\nSemantic Modeling\nSecurity & Deployment\nPerformance Optimization\n\nSupport or develop complex BI solutions where specialist expertise is required.\nTranslate complex business questions into scalable reporting strategies.\nValidate usability, accuracy, accessibility, security, and business value before solution deployment.\nIdentify recurring issues and initiate long-term improvements that reduce technical debt.\nCoach developers and promote best practices across teams.\nEvaluate new Microsoft data-platform capabilities and guide responsible adoption within the organization.\nSkills & experience\nTo be successful in this role, you bring:\nEducation\nBachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related discipline.\nExperience\nExtensive experience in BI development, analytics, database development, or data modeling.\nExpert-level Power BI knowledge including:DAX\nPower Query\nSemantic Modeling\nReport Design\nPerformance Optimization\nDeployment & Governance\n\nStrong SQL and relational database knowledge.\nExperience implementing governance, testing, documentation, and security frameworks.\nExperience coaching and reviewing technical work across teams.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience managing enterprise-scale Power BI environments.\nKnowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, Data Warehousing, ETL/ELT, APIs, and Agile frameworks.\nExperience within engineering, manufacturing, shipbuilding, or multinational environments is an advantage.\nCompetencies\nStrong consulting and advisory mindset.\nAbility to influence without formal authority.\nExcellent stakeholder-management skills.\nStrong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.\nStrategic thinking combined with practical implementation capabilities.\nPassion for continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.\nWhat we offer\nAt Damen, we understand that our success depends on finding the right person for the right job and supporting talented people throughout their development.
