From commercial phase to delivery and warranty, we work in an international, multidisciplinary environment with internal teams, suppliers, subcontractors, shipyards and customers.\nFor our product group Defense & Security we are looking for a Project Manager Engineering.\nTHE ROLE\nAs a Project Manager Engineering at Damen OSV, you will be responsible for the successful execution of all engineering activities within one or more complex new build or refit projects. You will lead multidisciplinary engineering project teams and ensure that deliverables are completed on time, within budget and in line with the agreed quality standards, contractual requirements and applicable procedures.\nIn this role, you will be a key link between engineering, project management, supply chain, production, clients, classification societies, co-makers and suppliers. You will maintain overview, create alignment, manage risks and take timely action when priorities, planning or project conditions change.\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES\nIn this role, you will:\nBe responsible for the execution of engineering activities within the agreed planning, quality standards and cost framework;\nLead one or more multidisciplinary engineering project teams and manage project and resource planning;\nPrepare and maintain the engineering project plan and monitor progress against milestones and deliverables;\nIdentify risks, bottlenecks and deviations at an early stage and initiate appropriate mitigation actions;\nEnsure compliance with applicable requirements, specifications, procedures and HSSEQ/IMED guidelines;\nCoordinate basic engineering, detailed engineering, production support, trials, testing, delivery and commissioning activities from an engineering perspective;\nAct as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including client representatives, classification societies, co-makers and suppliers;\nRepresent the organization towards tactical stakeholders and contribute to effective decision-making;\nSupport continuous improvement of engineering processes, project execution and ways of working;\nEncourage knowledge development, knowledge sharing and knowledge retention within the department.\nSKILLS & EXPERIENCE\nTo be successful in this role, you bring:\nA completed technical bachelor’s degree with 12 to 15 years of relevant experience, or a completed technical master’s degree with 10 to 12 years of relevant experience;\nIPMA C certification or comparable project management knowledge;\nExtensive experience in project management and leading multidisciplinary engineering teams;\nBroad knowledge of engineering concepts, methods and practices;\nExperience with complex, one-off engineering projects, preferably within the maritime, defense or security sector;\nExperience in an international, multi-site production or shipbuilding environment;\nStrong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build constructive internal and external partnerships;\nA structured way of working, with a strong focus on planning, organization, quality and management control;\nA customer-oriented, flexible and result-driven mindset;\nStrong communication skills and the ability to express ideas, decisions and expectations clearly;\nGood command of both Dutch and English, written and spoken;\nWillingness to travel internationally or work abroad temporarily, depending on project requirements.\nCOMPETENCIES\nYou are customer-oriented, quality-driven and results-focused.
