You'll combine technical expertise with leadership capabilities to ensure reliable infrastructure operations while driving automation, platform improvements, AI-assisted engineering practices, and operational excellence.You will serve as the technical lead for your squad, working closely with engineering, security, application support, database engineering, and product teams to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure solutions\nResponsibilities\nLead the technical direction and delivery of a Cloud Operations squad.\nRemain hands-on, working directly on infrastructure, operational challenges, and cloud platform improvements.\nDesign, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code methodologies.\nDrive operational excellence through automation, monitoring, incident management, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nCoach and mentor engineers on technical decision-making, code quality, infrastructure best practices, and AI-assisted engineering techniques.\nLead or contribute to technical design reviews and architectural discussions.\nCollaborate with other Cloud Centre of Excellence teams to maintain consistency in infrastructure standards and practices.\nAct as a senior escalation point for complex operational incidents and service restoration activities.\nDrive adoption of AI-powered operations, automation, and intelligent incident management capabilities.\nEnsure cloud platforms remain secure, resilient, cost-effective, and scalable as the business grows.\nRepresent squad capacity, technical constraints, and operational priorities in planning discussions.\nSkills and Experience\nShould have 8-12 years of strong background in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or site reliability engineering environments.\nExtensive experience with AWS and ideally exposure to Azure cloud technologies.\nStrong expertise in Terraform, Kubernetes (EKS/ECS), and Python or Go.\nExperience leading technical direction for engineering teams while remaining actively hands-on.\nStrong understanding of Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern engineering practices.\nExperience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, Grafana, CloudWatch, or Splunk.\nSolid knowledge of cloud networking, IAM, load balancing, DNS, storage, and managed database services.\nExperience managing incidents, root cause analysis, service restoration, and operational governance.\nStrong automation mindset with a proven track record of reducing operational toil.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nPassion for coaching and developing engineers.\nAbility to establish and maintain technical standards across teams.\nStrong decision-making skills during critical incidents and operational challenges.\nProven ability to influence, collaborate, and drive continuous improvement across multiple technical teams.\nAbout Ideagen\nIdeagen is the invisible force behind many things we rely on every day - from keeping airplanes soaring in the sky, to ensuring the food on our tables is safe, to helping doctors and nurses care for the sick.
