The main responsibility of this position is to provide technical support to internal & external customers and drive the launch process.\nJob Duties and Responsibilities\n· Drive the Design Review (Launch) Process by working with the required Dana groups to ensure activities are successfully completed to support the program according to program timing.\n· Lead program(s) through critical launch and production issues.\n· Engineering responsibility for customer product development, often working on multiple programs at the same time.\n· Use Application Analysis tool to develop appropriate product (typically driveshaft U joint series and tube, axle model/gear, gearbox) sizing for vehicle applications.\n· Perform technical problem solving to urgently address issues quickly.\n· Develop design proposals to meet customer specifications and test requirements.\n· Prepare and conduct technical presentations (Customer and Dana internal).\n· Define proposals, including sizing, priority, and requirements, following the Design Review Process.\n· Develop and manage documents such as DVP&Rs and DFMEAs, etc., to support customer programs.\n· Work collaboratively with Dana internal functions - Program Management, Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, Warranty, and Engineering Management during sourcing, vehicle development, launch, and production.\n· Work collaboratively with Dana external customers and suppliers.\n· Interface with customer engineering and other disciplines as required to provide complete support through all build phases of development.\n· Track and drive Lessons Learned items to closure. Provide a read across to various customer programs.\n· Other as requested by Manager\nEducation and Qualifications\nFour-year degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) preferred. Consideration may be given to candidates with other engineering degrees such as manufacturing, industrial or aeronautical with strong experience in product design.\nA minimum of 5 years’ experience in design or manufacture of powertrain components & assemblies for the automotive industry, ideally axle, gearbox, PTU, disconnects, propshaft and eDrive systems.\nExcellent mechanical aptitude, along with strong analytical capability.\nUnderstanding of engineering prints and specifications.\nMust have excellent interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within Dana and customers in a professional manner.
