Data Engineer Intern

As a Data Engineer Intern, you will support the development and operation of DANA’s data platform infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Site Reliability Engineers (SRE), Machine Learning Engineers (MLE), and Backend Engineers (BE) to help ensure data pipelines run reliably and efficiently. This role is ideal for individuals who are eager to learn about data platforms, automation, and cloud-based data systems while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You'll be working on

• Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines in collaboration with the Data Engineering team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support end-to-end data workflows and data-driven initiatives.
• Design, develop, operate, and monitor data pipelines, including identifying performance issues and optimization opportunities.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases to efficiently store, manage, and retrieve structured and unstructured data.
• Utilize big data technologies such as Apache Hive, Spark, Apache Airflow, and cloud-based big data platforms for large-scale data processing and orchestration.
• Support data modeling and data warehousing efforts to ensure data quality, consistency, and usability.
• Assist in troubleshooting and optimizing data pipelines to improve reliability and performance.
• Explore modern data stack and cloud computing platforms while learning best practices in data engineering.

Qualifications

• Willing to commit to a 6-month internship and based in Jakarta.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Basic programming skills in Python, Scala, or Golang.
• Basic understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.
• Ability to operate basic Linux commands for development and data-related tasks.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and data engineering practices.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to data accuracy and quality.
