The position also involves applying advanced scientific knowledge-particularly in instrument control, AI, and software development-to support cross-functional research initiatives.\nThis position reports to Technical Director, LCMS Research, and is part of the Software and Applications Research Team located in Concord, Ontario, Canada, and will be an on-site role.\nIn this role, you will have the opportunity to:\nIdentify existing and future customer needs and barriers and translate those into innovative research opportunities that solve valuable customer problems\nWork individually and/or as part of a cross functional team, mature research innovations into commercial technologies\nAct as an expert resource for other departments, including marketing, product development, product applications, software development and manufacturing in order to achieve company and research goals\nRepresent the company at international conferences, customer meetings, and support marketing efforts as necessary\nCarry out technical evaluation of both internal and external business opportunities from an applications perspective\n The essential requirements of the job include:\nMinimum of an M.Sc. in a related field such as Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, or similar (Ph.D. preferred)\nMore than 10 years of mass spectrometry experience\nProven track record of research and innovation in the application of MS to solve problems within key application areas such as Life Science Research, Pharma, Food, and Forensics\nProven publication record within the mass spectrometry field\nTrack record of collaborations with thought leaders in industry and/or academia, excellent communication and facilitation skills, and deep analytical, problem solving, and innovation skillset\nIt would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:\nDemonstrated experience implementing AI / ML to solve scientific problems and/or control instrumentation\nProven track record of innovation and patent generation preferred\nSCIEX, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
