You will be responsible for defining, evolving, and governing embedded software and system architectures that enable scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable products.\nIn this role, you will collaborate closely with Product Management, Systems Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Software/Firmware Engineering, Verification & Validation, Quality, and other cross-functional stakeholders to translate product and platform strategies into robust technical solutions that enable confident diagnostic decisions, and improve patient outcomes. You will drive architectural decisions, establish engineering standards, resolve complex technical challenges, and guide teams through the successful delivery of high-quality products.\nIn this role, you will have the opportunity to:\nDefine and drive the architecture, design, and evolution of embedded software systems and platforms for medical diagnostic instruments.\nLead the development of secure, scalable, reliable, and maintainable software architectures spanning firmware, real-time processing, device control, communication, diagnostics, and system integration.\nTranslate product requirements into well-defined architectural solutions, including component decomposition, interface definitions, technology selection, and dependency management.\nLead architecture, design, and code reviews to ensure technical quality, consistency, and compliance with organizational and product objectives.\nCollaborate with Hardware, Firmware, Systems, Mechanical, Verification & Validation, Quality, Regulatory, and Product teams to deliver integrated instrument solutions.\nCollaborate with global R&D teams and stakeholders to influence technical direction, align architectural roadmaps, and support long-term product and platform strategies.\nThe essential requirements of the job include:\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field, with 14+ years of experience in embedded software development, firmware engineering, systems architecture, or related technical roles.\nProven expertise in architecting and developing complex embedded systems using C/C++, with strong knowledge of software architecture, object-oriented design, design patterns, system-level engineering, interface design, and architectural trade-off analysis.\nDeep understanding of embedded and real-time systems, including RTOS, multithreading, synchronization, interrupt handling, memory management, performance optimization, and deterministic system behavior.\nHands-on experience with embedded communication and networking technologies, including UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, USB, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and similar protocols.\nDemonstrated technical leadership in cross-functional product development teams, including mentoring engineers, driving architectural decisions, influencing technical direction, and exhibiting strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.\nIt would be a plus if you also possess experience in:\nExperience architecting embedded systems for medical devices, IVD platforms, laboratory automation, scientific instrumentation, or other regulated industries, with knowledge of applicable compliance and quality requirements.\nExpertise in designing high-reliability, safety-critical instrument control systems involving sensors, motors, pumps, valves, measurement systems, diagnostics, fault-tolerant architectures, risk controls, and recovery mechanisms.\nExperience with medical device standards and cybersecurity requirements (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 14971), as well as modernization of legacy embedded systems and migration to next-generation architectures and platforms.\nWhy Join Us\nRadiometer, a Danaher operating company, offers a collaborative and purpose-driven environment where your work contributes directly to improving patient outcomes globally.\nJoin our winning team today.
