This role combines mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering expertise to deliver robust, compliant, and efficient automation solutions that meet stringent regulatory and quality standards.\nThis position reports to the Sr. Process Engineering Manager and is part of the Process Engineering Team located in New Brighton, MN and will be an on-site role.\nIn this role, you will have the opportunity to:\nDesign and develop custom automated equipment for medical device assembly, inspection, packaging, and testing.\n\nLead machine-building projects from concept through commissioning, including mechanical design, controls integration, and documentation.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure correct equipment handoff to production teams as well as troubleshoot and optimize machine performance, ensuring reliability, safety, and ease of use.\n\nSpecify and source components including actuators, sensors, vision systems, robotics, and control panels. Program and integrate control systems (PLCs, HMIs, motion controllers) for new and existing equipment.\n\nDocument machine designs and changes include mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, BOMs, and software versions.\n\nThe essential requirements of the job include:\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.\n\n6+ years of experience in machine design/build and automation within a regulated manufacturing environment (preferably medical devices or pharmaceuticals).\n\nProficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).\n\nDemonstrated experience with robotics, vision systems, pneumatics, and motion control.\n\nExcellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.\n\nIt would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:\nHands-on experience with machine shop tools and prototyping\n\nExperience with cleanroom-compatible machine design.\n\nUnderstanding of FDA regulations, ISO 13485, and equipment validation practices.\n\nFamiliarity with MES and SCADA integration.\n\nKnowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.\n\nRadiometer, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
