When you join our team, you’ll be part of a culture that’s driven by passion, challenging the status quo, and making an impact in the lives of others.\nLearn about the Danaher Business System which makes everything possible.\nThe Engineer II, Component is responsible for supporting new product development, sustaining engineering, and supply chain continuity across multiple medical device product lines through component selection, lifecycle management, and supplier engagement activities. This position provides technical expertise in electronic components and supports component selection, alternate sourcing, cost reduction initiatives, lifecycle management, and supply chain risk mitigation activities.\nThis position reports to the Manager, Component Engineering and is part of the Hardware Engineering Department located in Irvine, CA and will be an on-site role.\nIn this role, you will have the opportunity to:\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support component related decisions involving cost, availability, reliability, manufacturability, and lifecycle considerations.\nSupport component selection, qualification, and alternate source evaluations based on electrical specifications, form, fit, function, reliability, availability, and lifecycle requirements.\nPerform technical evaluations of PCNs, EOL notices, and supplier change events, including impact assessments, risk mitigation recommendations, and communication to impacted stakeholders.\nCreate and maintain component records, including inventory part numbers and specifications for COTS and custom components.\nSupport sourcing, procurement, and risk mitigation activities for prototype builds and project schedules, including identification of critical and long lead-time components.\nThe essential requirements of the job include:\nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n3+ years of component engineering or related engineering experience.\nWorking knowledge of electronic components, supply chain management, and product development processes.\nExperience reviewing and analyzing engineering BOMs.\nFamiliarity with PCNs, EOL notifications, and obsolescence management.\nIt would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:\nExperience supporting product development within medical device or other regulated industries\nFamiliarity with market intelligence tools, component lifecycle databases, and sourcing risk assessment tools.\nExperience supporting prototype builds.\nMasimo, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation forthis role at the time of this posting.
