General duties include designing and conducting experiments, analyzing and interpreting results, followed by communicating those results to both internal and external groups.\nThis position reports to the Staff Scientist and is part of the Assay Development team located in Boulder, CO and will be an on-site role.\nIn this role, you will have the opportunity to:\nDevelop new products using a combination of wet-lab and dry-lab skillsets\nPlan and conduct experiments, perform data analysis, and interpret results with minimal oversight\nBrainstorm creative solutions to solve outstanding problems and improve existing technologies\nSupport on market Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) products as a subject matter expert\nPresent experimental demonstrations of products at scientific conferences\nThe essential requirements of the job include:\nM.Sc. in a life sciences field or related discipline and 3+ years experience with NGS, or Ph.D. in a life sciences or related discipline with some NGS experience.\nExperience in wet-lab work preparing nucleic acids for NGS, and experience in dry-lab programming for NGS data analysis\nFoundational knowledge of human genetics and cancer biology\nExcellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and efficiently summarize complex scientific topics\nFamiliarity with Illumina sequencing technology\nTravel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:\nAbility to occasionally lift, move or carry equipment up to 10lb\nAbility to frequently work in a laboratory environment for extended periods\nAbility to travel to other IDT sites or scientific conferences (< %5)\nIt would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:\nPython programming, machine learning methods, and NextFlow.\nProduct development for the analysis of cancer genetics, developing gene expression phenotype classifiers for RNA-seq or NGS methods for methylation detection\nLoading and troubleshooting Illumina sequencers\nIDT, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
