As a New Buildings Site Supervisor

You will represent company during all phases of vessel construction (container or bulk carriers) and supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with contractual specifications, approved drawings, technical standards, and quality requirements. The position is a project based position to cover the needs of a large portfolio of New Building projects by 2029 (from 18 to 36 months),

As a part of your role, you will:

• Monitor project progress against the construction schedule and identify risks that may affect delivery milestones.
• Coordinate with shipyard management, subcontractors, equipment suppliers, and the owner's project team.
• Review and verify steel construction, hull fabrication, outfitting, machinery installation, piping, electrical systems, accommodation, cargo handling equipment, and navigation systems.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure workmanship meets the required standards.
• Monitor installation and commissioning of propulsion, auxiliary machinery, cargo systems, ballast water treatment systems, exhaust gas cleaning systems (where applicable), and other critical equipment.
• Witness factory acceptance tests (FAT), harbour acceptance tests (HAT), sea trials, and final performance trials.
• Verify compliance with Classification Society rules and statutory requirements, including flag state regulations and applicable IMO conventions.
• Coordinate inspections with Classification Surveyors and statutory authorities.
• Identify construction deficiencies, maintain punch lists, and ensure timely rectification before vessel delivery.
• Review inspection reports, test records, quality documentation, and as-built documentation.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for the owner's management.
• Monitor change orders, variations, and technical deviations from contract specifications.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have

• Degree in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering or experience as Class C Engineer
• At least 1 year experience in NB Projects
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
• Efficiency in troubleshooting, organizing skills, attention to detail
• Availability to relocate as an expatriate in China for 18 to 36 months
