The ideal candidate must have strong Florida-based coding experience and a thorough understanding of medical necessity, documentation compliance, and payer audit defense.\nResponsibilities:\nPerform detailed medical coding audits (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS)\nConduct utilization reviews to determine medical necessity and documentation compliance\nReview and prepare demand packages and audit response materials\nAnalyze records for payer disputes and recoupments\nPrepare written audit findings and defensible reports\nProvide expert support for depositions and testimony as needed\nReview E/M services under 2021+ guidelines\nInterpret CMS, LCD/NCD, and payer-specific policies\nIdentify risk areas and compliance vulnerabilities\nRequired Qualifications:\nActive CPC certification through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC)\nCPMA preferred\nMinimum 5 years of professional coding experience\nAt least 3 years of Florida-based coding experience required\nStrong knowledge of Florida Medicaid (AHCA) billing guidelines, fee schedules, and Florida payer policies.\nPrior audit and utilization review experience required\nExperience supporting legal cases, depositions, or expert testimony strongly preferred\nExcellent written documentation and reporting skills\nAbility to work independently and meet deadlines\nThis position may be part-time depending on the candidate's qualifications.
