Danfoss is a Danish engineering group headquartered in Nordborg that makes mechanical and electronic components for climate solutions, power solutions and drives, including valves, compressors, heat exchangers, hydraulics and frequency converters. Founded in 1933 by Mads Clausen and still family-owned, it runs factories and engineering sites across Europe, the Americas and Asia, with large teams in Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Mexico, India, China and Slovenia. Its careers board lists quality, test and application engineers, production operators and assemblers, project and sales engineers, and student workers.

The Impact You'll Make

As a Forming Tool Engineer, you will play an important role in developing and improving forming tools and fixtures that support our new product development for manufacturing operations.

Working closely with colleagues across engineering, production, quality, and supplier partners, you will help bring tooling concepts into production by combining design expertise, simulation capabilities, and practical problem-solving. Your work will contribute to reliable manufacturing processes, high product quality, and the ongoing development of Danfoss' in-house tooling knowledge and standards.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative international environment where you can work with advanced tooling technologies, share best practices across sites, and help strengthen our engineering capabilities for the future.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Design and develop forming tools and fixtures, supporting projects from initial requirements through release and production implementation
  • Use forming simulation tools to evaluate and improve tooling concepts, helping to optimize manufacturability, quality, and process performance
  • Collaborate with colleagues across sites to develop and maintain common design standards, methods, and lessons learned
  • Support tool tryouts, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities by analyzing results and helping identify practical solutions
  • Work closely with engineering, production, quality, procurement, suppliers, and tool shops throughout tooling development, commissioning, maintenance, and improvement activities

You will also contribute to design reviews, supplier collaboration, and knowledge-sharing initiatives that help strengthen tooling expertise across the organization

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a team-oriented engineer with a passion for tooling design, manufacturing processes, and continuous improvement.

You will likely bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience working with sheet metal forming tools, tooling design, or manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of CAD software such as NX, AutoCAD, or similar design platforms
  • Experience with forming simulation tools such as Dynaform, AutoForm, PAM-STAMP, or equivalent software
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and cultures
  • Experience with GD&T, tolerance analysis, DFMEA, DFM, tool tryout activities, or supplier collaboration would be considered an advantage but is not required

Fluency in English and Slovene are required.
