The Impact You'll Make
Do you want to build software that does something good for the planet by saving energy and fighting food loss? We make it happen with our software for refrigeration control systems in supermarkets.
Our product is mature and used in thousands of stores. Now we want to raise the way we build it: better tests, small frequent merges, feature flags. We're looking for people who've done this before, or who really want to.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build the web and desktop versions of our product in React
- Write integration and end-to-end tests that keep the UI and the device interface in sync (MSW + Playwright)
- Help introduce modern engineering practices like feature flags and frequent deployments, and help modernise our React and build setup
- Become a product engineer: understand how our devices work, help shape new features, and build the product beyond the UI codebase, for example by diving deep into the XML interfaces we use
- Use AI-assisted practices to move faster without giving up engineering rigor
What We're Looking For
You're a strong React engineer who doesn't stop at the edge of the UI. When something unfamiliar comes up, your answer is "we can solve it!", whether that's the intricacies of our XML interface, packaging an Electron app, or debugging against a real controller.
- Solid frontend experience with React
- You've worked in a real, non-trivial TypeScript codebase
- You know React hooks, data fetching and state management (we use SWR and React Context; Redux or similar experience is fine), forms, and styled-components
- You test at the integration level: you mock APIs (we use MSW) and write end-to-end tests (we use Playwright)
- You know how to work with feature flags, or you want to learn, so we can merge small and often
- Nice to have:
- Experience with Electron
- Experience working with design systems
- Experience with build tooling and monorepos (webpack, SWC, Rollup, pnpm/Nx)
- Experience setting up CI pipelines (we use Azure Pipelines)
- Experience with structured AI-assisted engineering beyond prompting, for example writing your own skills, agents, or scripts that automate parts of your workflow
- Working proficiency in English (our team language)
What You'll Get from Us
Room to grow into a full-stack skill set. Danfoss has many products built on a wide range of interesting technologies, and we want to work with curious people who want to expand their skills. On top of that, you'll learn the refrigeration domain in the context of IoT products. You'll work in a hybrid setup based at our office in Sofia.
