Job Purpose\nTo ensure the plant's utilities, grounds and support services are safe, clean, compliant and fully operational. The role also manages housekeeping standards and all facilities-related vendors, including statutory engagement with the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA).\n2. Key Responsibilities\nA. Housekeeping\nSet, monitor and enforce cleanliness and hygiene standards across the plant, offices, canteen, restrooms and common areas.\nPrepare cleaning schedules, checklists and inspection routines.\nManage the housekeeping team's rosters, supplies and equipment.\nConduct regular inspections and ensure corrective action is taken promptly.\nOversee pest control and fumigation programmes.\nB. Waste Management and LAWMA Liaison\nEnsure proper segregation, collection, storage and disposal of general and industrial waste.\nServe as the primary contact with LAWMA and its accredited waste contractors.\nMaintain valid registrations, permits, waste manifests and payment records.\nSchedule waste collections to prevent overflow and site contamination.\nEnsure compliance with Lagos State environmental regulations and the plant's EHS policies.\nSupport audits and inspections by LAWMA, LASEPA and other regulatory bodies.\nC. Vendor Management\nIdentify, evaluate and onboard facilities service providers (cleaning, security, catering, transport, maintenance, pest control, waste).\nNegotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).\nMonitor vendor performance using KPIs and conduct periodic reviews.\nVerify and approve vendor invoices before payment.\nEnsure vendors comply with HSE requirements, insurance and statutory obligations.\nD. Health, Safety and Compliance\nEnforce safe working practices in all facilities activities.\nEnsure fire safety equipment, emergency exits and evacuation plans are maintained and tested.\nInvestigate facilities-related incidents and implement corrective actions.\nMaintain compliance with applicable regulations and permits.\nE. Reporting and Team Leadership\nSubmit weekly and monthly facilities, housekeeping and vendor performance reports.\nSupervise, train and appraise facilities staff.\nHandle staff and vendor disputes and escalate issues where necessary.\n3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)\n4. Qualifications and Experience\nB.Sc./HND in Facilities Management, Engineering, Estate Management, Environmental Management or a related field.\n7+ years' facilities management experience, at least 3 in a supervisory or managerial role (manufacturing or plant environment preferred).\nProfessional certifications are an advantage (e.g., NEBOSH/IOSH, IFMA/BIFM, PMP).\n5. Skills and Competencies\nStrong knowledge of plant maintenance, utilities, and housekeeping standards.\nExperience dealing with LAWMA, LASEPA and other Lagos State regulators.\nContract negotiation and vendor performance management.\nBudgeting and cost control.\nLeadership, communication and problem-solving.\nProficiency in MS Office and facilities software.\n6.
