The role supports safe and reliable plant operations by ensuring piping systems are installed and maintained in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards, and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.\nThe successful candidate must possess strong technical knowledge of industrial piping systems, excellent pipe fitting skills, and the ability to work effectively in a manufacturing or process plant environment.\nKey Responsibilities / Critical Tasks\n1. Install and Assemble Piping Systems\nInstall, assemble, align, and secure piping systems, valves, fittings, supports, and related equipment in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.\n2. Perform Piping Maintenance and Repairs\nConduct preventive and corrective maintenance activities on pipelines, valves, flanges, pumps, and associated piping components to ensure system integrity and reliability.\n3. Interpret Technical Drawings and Isometric Plans\nRead and interpret piping drawings, isometric sketches, P&IDs, blueprints, and work instructions to execute pipe fitting activities accurately.\n4. Fabricate and Prepare Pipe Components\nMeasure, mark, cut, thread, bevel, bend, and prepare pipes and fittings for installation, maintenance, and modification works.\n5. Conduct Pipe Alignment and Fit-Up Activities\nPerform pipe alignment, fit-up, and positioning activities to ensure compliance with dimensional and engineering requirements prior to welding or commissioning.\n6. Carry Out Pressure Testing and Inspection Support\nAssist in hydrostatic testing, leak testing, line checking, flushing, and commissioning of piping systems to verify operational readiness.\n7. Ensure Compliance with HSE Requirements\nAdhere strictly to Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, hot work procedures, PPE requirements, and all company safety regulations during maintenance and installation activities.\nBasic Technical Competencies and Skills\nThe ideal candidate should demonstrate competency in:\nIndustrial pipe fitting and installation techniques.\nReading and interpretation of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), isometric drawings, and engineering blueprints.\nPipe measurement, cutting, threading, beveling, and alignment.\nKnowledge of valves, flanges, gaskets, pipe supports, and fittings.\nHydrostatic testing and leak detection procedures.\nMaintenance of process, utility, steam, compressed air, and water piping systems.\nUse of pipe fitting tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.\nKnowledge of piping materials, standards, and specifications.\nBasic welding and fabrication awareness.\nTroubleshooting and repair of piping-related defects and failures.\nUnderstanding of industrial safety practices and maintenance procedures.\nGood communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.\nQualification and Experience\nEducational Qualification\nNational Diploma (ND) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance Engineering, Welding and Fabrication Engineering, or a related technical discipline;\nOR\nTrade Test Grade I, II, and III in Pipe Fitting, Mechanical Maintenance, Welding and Fabrication, or a related engineering trade.\nProfessional Certification (Added Advantage)\nPipe Fitting Certification.\nWelding and Fabrication Certification.\nIndustrial Safety Certification.\nConfined Space Entry Training.\nHSE Level 1, 2, or 3 Certification.\nExperience\nMinimum of three (3) years' industrial experience in pipe fitting, piping maintenance, fabrication, installation, or mechanical maintenance within a fertilizer plant, petrochemical plant, manufacturing facility, oil and gas industry, power plant, refinery, cement plant, or similar industrial environment.\nExperience in process piping, utility piping, shutdown
