Technical Security Coordinator

Job Summary

The Technical Security Coordinator will coordinate the implementation, maintenance, and effectiveness of technical security systems across the organisation. The role will oversee surveillance, access control, alarm and related security systems, conduct technical security risk assessments, support incident investigations, and recommend appropriate measures to protect personnel, assets, facilities, and information.

Job Description

• Coordinate the installation, maintenance, monitoring, and upgrade of CCTV, access control, alarm, and other technical security systems.
• Conduct regular technical security risk assessments and identify system vulnerabilities and operational gaps.
• Investigate technical security incidents and breaches and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
• Develop and implement technical security procedures, standards, and controls.
• Monitor the effectiveness and availability of technical security equipment across operational locations.
• Provide technical support and specifications for the procurement and deployment of security equipment and solutions.
• Support security risk management, emergency response, and business continuity activities.
• Coordinate technical security activities with Plant Security teams and relevant internal stakeholders.
• Provide training and guidance to security personnel on the proper use of technical security systems.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare periodic reports on technical security systems, risks, incidents, and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable company security procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Job Specification

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Security Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 - 10 years exprience with 4 years' experience in technical security, security systems, risk management, or related operations.
• Practical experience with CCTV, electronic access control, alarm systems, and other security technologies.
• Military or paramilitary background will be an added advantage.
• Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+ or CEH will be an added advantage.

• Good knowledge of CCTV, access control, alarm, and technical security systems.
• Strong security risk assessment and incident investigation skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong planning and coordination skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate technical security risks to non-technical stakeholders.
• High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential and sensitive security information.
